So, how much frosting is best to have on a cupcake ? I like to cover the entire thing so there is no cake visible, but I've seen cupcakes with frosting in the centre, with visible cake.
How much frosting do YOU put on your cupcake ?

I like mine completely covered, but not heaped on. I find too much can be sickly after a couple of bites.

I don't like eating them if they are very heavily frosted, extremely sickly!

As little as possible. Half the frosting ends up on your nose

I don't cover the entire surface (unless it's a rose cupcake, or another special design, but even then the buttercream is only a single layer). I like a little of the cake to show round the edges. I've seen cupcakes with the same volume of buttercream on top as the cake itself. IMO way too much, though many people like it.

Same. I looked up a recipe for frosting 12 fairy cakes one time and it made SO much icing it was ridiculous. I ended up binning a lot of it, and I've since just cut the recipe in half minus a little bit and it's just right.
