Well that was poor.
I'm pleased I have Game of Thrones to watch to wake me up before the next game. |

They were past their peak though, weren't they? I have some family out there who said that it seems to be gradually growing in popularity. Not sure what to make of that but with a large and growing Hispanic community, that would make sense.
Back to the game: Nigeria were terrible. A dire mix of glory-hunting, poor passing and running into trouble. Iran weren't much better but at least they executed thier game plan. Nigeria didn't seem to have a scooby and I think they gave the ball away more than any other team I've seen so far. |

The good thing about a goalless match, it makes people appreciate it more when there is a match with goals. #thepostiveside

Ah, I'm personally glad I didn't miss anything after deciding to do something more productive with twenty minutes to go. It wasn't because of the 0-0 scoreline, for many 0-0 games can be damn exciting affairs, it was due to the game being dour and technically inept (bar the Iranian defence, I suppose, which played to their strengths).
Oh well, I suppose a dour 0-0 was bound to happen. Hope it's the last boring game (0-0 or otherwise). |

awful awful game, with our manager mostly to blame. we ran out of ideas after about 15 mins, and most of the players started to look petrified anytime they got in the vague vicinity of the ball. EXTREMELY disappointed with Mikel, because he showed no leadership whatsoever, and the same for Onazi and Emenike from whom more was also expected.
but it's ultimately down to the manager, who seems to have gotten carried away with his own importance recently. him smiling at the end really did wind me up, because I just knew it meant he'd try to downplay everything and make out like everything's still under control, and wouldn't admit to any making any mistakes. in truth, I expected a crap game (albeit with a different result). we don't tend to play well, and always seem to look rather laboured against the sides we're expected to beat. we should at least give a better account of ourselves against Bosnia, even if the win proves beyond us. we're MUCH better than we showed last night, I know that much. |
