So have people singing because they're forced rather than wanting to? Seems disingenuous and false. How they play should be the only measure.

I remember that so well. It was hilarious how Savaged was enraged by that.

Agreed, when players sing the national anthem you know it's coming from the heart precisely because of the fact that they are not forced to.

Good chance, good play by USA.

Totally agree with this.

Er Robbie, Rooney gets paid £300,000 a week and as argued as 'World Class', he's not meant to be in the same breath as Altidore.

If USA get a second can see them running away with this.

They seem well organised USA but expect that with klinsmann

Altidore looks done sadly.

Altidore's run of bad luck continues.

The pendulum has certainly swung for the USA in this match so far.

Ghana better than Nigeria but they still don't look up to much so far.

African teams are hugely overrated

In a weird way, I'd like to pull my hamstring to see how painful it is, considering the amount of footballers it sends off immediately.

And there goes Sunderland's chances of selling him this summer. We were hoping he'd have a good WC so someone would buy him.

Does anyone actually rate Cameroon and Nigeria?

They're both terrible teams. How Nigeria won last years ACON I'll never know.

USA defence doesn't look great, Ghana look like they can get at them.

I think they've been ok to be honest. As we saw with Argentina, some teams take longer to grow into the tournament with others. Ghana's problem is that they don't have the luxury of working their way I gradually because they're one down and this looks like their biggest game.
