I've gone for 2-2 in the DS prediction league.

This group is very unpredictable.

Has it been suggested by any of the pundits/media that Sturridge is moved to the left?
All the discussion's i've heard has been to move Wellbeck and have Rooney in the central role behind sturridge.

That's the reason why I'm taking nothing for granted.
It was taken for granted that Uruguay would beat Costa Rica, but they were poor.
England were very good in their last match, but for whatever reason we could be poor tonight.
It's tricky to judge things based on the first match because you wonder if a team did well because the other team were so poor and allowed them to appear better than they maybe are.

I'm confident that England CAN beat Uruguay, but I'm prepared for if we don't.

According to the news Rooney is being moved to a more central position.
However, surely that would change the balance of what went so well for them in the last match if players are being moved around wouldn't it?

Factors like this can make it very difficult to replicate what worked so well before.

I think that if Rooney scores that's the key. He'll be brimming with confidence and so will we and the rest of the team. If he doesn't score and Stirling isn't doing what he did in the new position that he did last time, then I'll be very nervous waiting for that first goal to come.

You've lost me a bit there...

To put Rooney in the central role behind Sturridge means Sterling has to go somewhere else. Maybe on the left, maybe on the right depending on which side Hodgson wants his workhorse Welbeck.

It is. What happens if |Italy have a stinker and Costa Rica are actually as good as they appeared in the first match in the knowledge that they have a very real chance of qualifying due to the confidence they must have gained by already claiming 3 points in their first match?

This group is very tight, and doesn't appear to be as predictable as one might have thought before the world cup started.

Yeah, that'd be bad. Costa Rica has the best goal difference at the moment. If England win their next two games, but Italy lose to Costa Rica, then best Uruguay, that'd leave Italy, England and Costa Rica on 6 points, meaning even if England win the next two games, they still might be going out at the group stages. This group is wide open.

The discussions i've heard on radio and telly many pundits have suggested having Rooney central behind Sturridge. Wellbeck on left wing. Sterling on the right wing.

I think before the tournament people were only really citing Manaus as standing out weather-wise, and that ended up being much ado about nothing anyway. If you can't play football in Brazil, where can you play?

I don't think he'll play a full game but I think he will have a run out. If he was a hundred percent fit like he's making out, then he would have played some part against Costa Rica. End of.
It's all mind games, but fruitless, because they've got one real theat, we've got several.

Everyone get ready for 'baby faced' Adrian Chiles.
What wise-ass cracks will he make tonight
and will his jokes be better, than those found inside christmas crackers

one reason why England lost on Saturday, the curse of David Cameron, because he tweeted to wish them luck

Please stay silent, Mr Cameron... for the sake of the country !!

Pretty sure he wished Andy Murray good luck during the year he won Wimbledon

England could also lose tonight and go through with just 3 points if Italy beat both Costa Rica and Uruguay and we beat Costa Rica by the required margin.

Uruguay setting up as a 4-4-2 means an England win.

It'll be interesting to see how Suarez fairs if he's match sharp.

Some England fans will never learn, let's hope the team show more respect ot they will get spanked

Don't think I'll be watching the build up for this one. It's always the same when Chiles presents an England game. He gets all jittery and nervous, and then asks one of the non-English guests to calm him down and reassure him England are a good team.
