Brazil lack a good forward which meant that Neymar was trying and failing to do it all himself.

Their team selection is too conservative for me and there are other, better attacking players who were left on the bench or not even in the squad.

Brazil will be fine. The were hardly great during the group stages during last years Confederations Cup but turned up during the semi's and final.

They should put away Cameroon easy.

Not sure Mexico will fancy getting a point against them to knock them out

They seemed to be smiling. The cynic in me thinks these fans are corporate/johnny come lately types. I imagine genuine Brazilian supporters will be very disappointed at this result.

Hopefully the Netherlands can find a way to finish 2nd in Group B so they can put the Brazilians to the sword in the Second Round.

Beeb worried viewers will switch off if there aren't England references every 60 seconds.

I think the Dutch or Germans would really damage them. I would even fancy the Argies over them despite them not being 100% convincing.

Shearer getting stuck into Fred. He's nowhere near good enough for this level.

I love the coverage on Talksport banging on about the day's games while I'm at work:

Terrible dive. Should have been booked but I was worried that he would get the pen.”

Just want to say a word in praise of the referee - I still think he favoured the Brazilians with soft free kicks and leniency on bookings but he made a very brave and bold decision not to award the penalty at the end (even though it was an absolutely blatant dive by Marcelo) which he could so easily have given and deserves full credit for doing so.

Scolari has spent too much time in Europe, as have the players. This is not Brazilian football. Not in the slightest.

Seems absurd that Fernandinho and Willian don't start in this team. Even having Luiz in midfield would have provided more energy.

Is there any tv footage where we actually see the save rather than the camera bring on the attacking players?

Which hardly makes them one of the best teams in the world.

And no one said they were rubbish.

From Pele, Romario, Ronaldo etc to Jo and Fred.

RTE panel reckon this is the worst Brazil team ever

I would agree.....they haven't even played a top 10 team yet and struggled in both matches.

I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Its been a great World Cup so far. By comparison South Africa 2010 was a borefest featuring angry bees.

If they can manage a draw against Brasil surely they've a shot against Croatia? Croatia definitely was stitched up by home cooking. But Mexico do look more organised and solid at the back than Croatia did. They also managed more possession.
