Surely the point of showing that was demonstrate how close it was to being a goal?

Pearce still not understanding the goal line technology. Just how stupid is this man?

Pearce still utterly clueless about the goal line replay.

You would think it was obvious. But then it was obvious what was going on with the France match and Pearce didn't get it.

Says it all about this match when most of the conversation in this thread has been about kits and Jonathan Pearce.

I'm on Pearce's side, if a goal has been given, showing a video clip with the caption "No Goal" is just asking for confusion.

Agreed, only show it if a goal is being questioned, no other reason to see it, ever.

It's been a good game, but damnit, we need goals! This 0-0 malarkey just won't do.

I thought it was interesting to see how close it was as the keeper saved it.

PUUUUTTTTTOOOO

Its apparently what all that daft noise is chanted by both fans when a set piece is taken. It means son of a whore.

Mexico scoring is what we need right now.

If there was such a thing as "arse cam" then the broadcast director would feature regular shots from that angle, just because they can.

Apparently most of the people who cover sport are actually bored stiff by it and wish to jazz it up a bit, tennis is terrible for this nowadays.

Good to see that their fans are as classy as ours.

I'm bored. From what I've seen of Brazil so far, the only way they can win this world cup is if everyone else quits.

Yeah, the BBC tennis people seem to focus mostly on some pointless non-entity in the crowd like Pippa Middleton than the matches. I don't give a flying f**k about her, I want to watch tennis.

I don't think they're in control of these shots though.

If you fall over at a crowded party you are usually judged to be drunk. If you fall over in a crowded penalty area you are often judged to be a diver. Close call as to which is more usually true.

Or if the ref gives them a dodgy penalty in every match.
