We was having a sort out at work ( I work in retail ), in the back of a cupboard covered in dust was a ISDN router labeled faulty. It must of been in there for at least 5 years. My manager told me to chuck it.

Just before I threw it in the skip, I had a good look at the router and noticed it had 2 SIM cards inserted in it. Out of pure interest I took out the Sims ( orange and Vodafone ), when I got home I inserted the orange SIM card into my EE Mobile Wifi modem and to my utter surprise it connected.

I ran a speed test and I was getting on average 10mb download and 2 mb upload..... It's been rock solid all day. This is a Sim Card that hasn't been used in over 5 years....

I'm not sure if the data sim plan is still being paid for by our company or if it's a special business grade sim that never gets disconnected or checked by orange.

Any ideas?

It's probably the former. I unearthed some pagers when I was clearing out a store room where I work, they still worked too - a human operator answered the number very quickly and the message was indeed delivered. I think they were on Pageone.

Possibly not a good idea to keep using it as without a data plan your company could be on the hook for quite a big bill.
