Not for France, Italy, or Argentina. All of those teams scored first and went on to win their games.

I just think it's about keeping up momentum and closing the game out - too many teams have failed to build on solid foundations.

Algeria are ranked 35 places above Korea.

Yes a lot of the lesser teams have struggled to see games out

Alegria have never changed their approach at any point today whether winning losing or drawing

They have been ok Algeria way better organised that a lot of the other lesser sides.

Still won't get through the group though

This is a tight group and Algeria are a well organised side. How many times have we seen a bigger, better team being frustrated by a smaller side who nick a lead and dig in at the back? In that situation, the most important thing is just to get the win. Belgium have done that, winning without playing that well and showing their grit and determination. That's good experience and a platform for them to build on.

Let's be honest, writing them off before half time was a silly move.

Good turnaround from Belgium. Algeria made it very tough for them. The substitutions certainly changed the game.

Belgian performance reminded me of Argentina's somewhat - completely flat and uninspired in the first half, then the manager made telling substitutions which gave them the spark they needed and they simply overwhelmed their opponents in the second half.

Something tells me Mertens and Fellaini won't be starting on the bench in the next match.

The Belgians will be further encouraged by the way De Bruyne and Hazard in particular grew in influence as that second half went on.

That's what Algeria did today and they duly paid the price.

Hard fought win for Belgium coming from behind against a well organised side. Not the most polished performance and a weak showing in the first half but they've set a good marker to grow into the tournament.

It'll be interesting to see what the quality of the others in this group are like.

Belgium continued their winning run, but they still look more like a collection of individuals than a team to me. I'm not sure the manager knows his best team, but fair play, his substitutions came good today.
I've still yet to see Kevin de Bruyne play a really good game, either for Chelsea or Belgium, so I can't say I'm sorry that we let him go. I thought Witsel was impressive throughout, Mertens caused them problems when he came on, and Fellaini did more in 30 minutes than he's done all season for United.

And Origi looks like the fastest player at the world cup. Flying machine.

Yes, he was lightening fast wasn't he. I'd never heard of him before this game ?

He's just a kid that's playing in France. I'd never heard of him either but if he can make the Belgium squad at his age then he must have some skills.

De Bruyne didn't look very creative, surely they said play Hazard in that role. It was nice to see Fellaini do well when he came on after he season he's had. I've always liked Dembele as a player, but have read that Spurs fans think he holds on to the ball a bit to long, which was evident yesterday. Belgium were too slow - but they won and that's all that matters.
