Well this game has finally come alive. Should be a good last 15/20 mins!

This is more like World Cup 2014.

Awful defending, but goals!

I have seen that goal 2-3 times now and I still dont know how he did it. His hands where in a decent position, he has his body behind the ball and some how mashes the ball with his fingers over his head.

It was like the claw machine at the fairgrounds rather than a pair of hands. Mind you he has been like that most of the night. No he punches the ball away most of the time.

No, wait...

Out for the next match, he's been completely ineffectual.

I don't think the Belgians will have been unduly concerned by anything they've seen in this match either.

This Russian team did very well in qualifying but they seem preposterously conservative. Why take a draw when Belgium will be a tough opponent and Algeria will organise well? Are they just betting on bettering Korea's results and settling for second place? Or are they just shit?

That's probably it

Draw is a fair result, neither team has really done enough to win it.

Draw a fair result in a match which was mainly dross but turned into something quite exciting once the first goal went in.

Akinfeev should count himself very lucky that his crass error didn't lead to a Russian defeat.
