Streaming to a TV from PC

Hi everyone. I have a query and could really use some advice!

I’m research large flat screen’s that will enable me to stream from a PC to the screen to watch videos/use Skype etc. I’ve got a budget of about £2500 and wondered if anyone could recommend screens they use for this purpose? I know you can do this through a PC’s HDMI port but I’m also interested to know if this is possible wirelessly.
As you can tell from my post, I’m not very technically minded, so please be gentle with me lol.

How large is large? £2500 is more than enough for the largest screen typically aimed at the domestic market. Any of the usual suspects (Sony, Panasonic, Samsung etc) should do what you need. Why wireless?

Thanks for this. I'm asking on behalf of a charity I volunteer for-- and I'm about the worsed person you could ask for something like this! they are looking for this for one of their residential homes. I'm just trying to get some ideas to pull together. I've been asked to look in to wireless options as well as HDMI.

If you are simply wanting to stream videos stored on a PC onto a TV then one of the easiest ways is to use a plex enabled Now TV box and stream it across your wireless network.

as for Skype etc ... how do you plan on typing messages or using a webcam on a TV?

Most Smart TVs will let you stream music, videos & photos from your PC to the screen & a lot of the high end TVs also have Skype & Skype cameras built-in too removing the need to use a pc at all. for £2500 you could end up with a monster 4k 50" Panasonic easily but this would bee overkill I would assume. For about £1550 you can have a 55" Panasonic Full HD TV with the camera built in and a cracking picture.
