It was a brill twist having Phil responsible for Sharon's attack, and I think when Sharon gets out of this and finds out, all hell will break loose and we'll see SHARON FINALLY TAKE DOWN PHIL! It would be a great twist to have him loose everything to her, it's time we saw feisty Sharon again!! this weeks worth of episodes have been amazing so far, and also, I think Sharon Marshall has said Sharon's story will run for quite a time! great news for Sharon fans !! can't wait!!

I think this will never happen sadly.

TPTB will never allow Philth to lose - even to Sharon.

Finding out he was responsible for the death of her husband, the love of her life and father of her unborn child wasn't enough for her to leave him so i dont think this will. She'll probably be annoyed when she finds out but then forgive him and go back to bitching and sniping at Shirley and Linda. Oh Sharon what has happened to you?

I still cant believe they threw that plot line away. Awful, awful writing.

They had to so that Philth would remain the 'King'.

Does Steve have something over the BBC?

I sometimes wonder.

Sharon stayed with Grant after she discovered he burnt down the Vic with her inside. Chances are, she'll still with Phil after this inevitably comes out. Although I would LOVE a revenge story.

Not directly; in fact arguably not at all.

He merely told Dennis about Johnny throttling Sharon. Dennis made his own decision to confront Johnny, and consequently beat him to a pulp. Dennis also, rather foolishly, handed Johnny his phone while he lay bleeding.

so why did he admit to Sharon that he was responsible for Dennis' death?

He feels guilty, and he feels responsible, but that doesn't mean he is. Dennis was a grown man and he made his own decisions.

Yes, BUT if Phil DIDNT tell him that information Dennis would have still been alive. Phil was more or less the catalyst for Dennis's murder!

Your right technically speaking Phil didnt actually do anything wrong, he didnt commit a crime Dennis sealed his own fate. However he broke Sharon's trust and told Dennis about what Johnny did after she specifically told him not to. If he hadn't have done Dennis would not have died, he may not have killed him personally but his actions set off the chain of events that led to Dennis' death. Sharon knew this at the time and made him promise not to tell Dennis he promised her and then went ahead and did it. Sharon has every right to blame him for what happened.

Yes watch it. Jack Dalton threatens him and he kills him. Allen threatens his wife and he gives him a phone?
Dennis put revenge over love for his wife. They were getting away. Phil didn't put a gun to his head, he is a grown man. If he was that incapable of making choices he shouldn't have been allowed out without a carer.
The whole theme was he had his final test and failed as confirmed at the time.
Phil should have not told the truth to Dennis but Dennis was responsible as an adult. And showed how strong their marriage was that Sharon kept secrets from him too.

Phil is responsible for this though. Phil will sadly stick with Sharon. It will all come out around a possible wedding which will see Sharon take Phil to the cleaners. Phil has been in the gutter before and he will be again. Said it here first.

Personally wish he would bugger off with his doormat.

That is true, but Phil could not have known Dennis was going to die as a result of his actions. It was still Dennis who made the decision.

I'm not defending what Phil did at all, but he cannot be blamed for Dennis' death.

Congratulations. You are awarded the most patronising and inaccurate post of the day actually make that week.

Phil was not responsible for Denniss death. Dennis was a grown man and could make his own choices. Feeling responsible and actually being responsible are two very different things.

I wonder if this is Sharon Rickman being killed off ready for Sharon Watts to rise from the ashes? She's going to find out what Phil did eventually and hopefully finally dump him, and become that strong independent woman again we all knew.

The Sharon I remember before Den came back had her own flat, business and was a mentor to half-sister Vicki. I' hoping that's where she's going. Seriously though in the past couple of weeks the bad writing has quietly vanished, the bitchy remarks, and Sharon seems to be herself again.

Wonder what happens after she gets home?

And if the actor hadn't wanted to leave, it wouldn't have happened!

Why are people so obsessed with the idea that Dennis didn't have a brain to decide for himself?
Did everyone hate him that much?

If Sharon forgives Philth for this it will prove what I have been saying for over a decade - that TPTB think he is far bigger than the show.

She'll blackmail him...'give me the club and I won't go to the police'.
