Chile were great! Back to the drawing board for Spain, time to shake things up and retire some of the untouchables.

Time for ENGLAND to step up and dominate football for the next six years.

With Uncle Roy,

That is a bit of a sad performance from Spain. Chile were great though and Brazil (or whoever else) should really fear them.

Great play by Chile. Really like their play and energy. Seem like a definite team to watch.

Can't say I'm sorry to see them out. International football is cyclic. They have had their glory period but time to rebuild and start again.

Its been fun Spain, but time for your Next Generation to emerge.

Fantastic work-rate by Chile who at times pressed Spain to death. Their manager should lock the players into their bedrooms for the next 3 days for much need rest*.

*With beautiful woman optional.

With the recent history of holders struggling in the next tournament I'm starting to worry about England's prospects in Russia in 4 years time

Sorry Spain, and sorry Australia. Especially Australia, they gave it their all against Holland and I'm so disappointed for them

Oh and could you throw in your WC Final Ticket in as well.

Look forward to receiving conformation very, very shortly

Guaranteed? Before this tournament people were saying that Spain were guaranteed to get to the semis. People thought Uruguay were guaranteed to beat Costa Rica. Not that I think you have the slightest clue of what you're on about, but I would advise against getting ahead of yourself. You might end up looking foolish...

Does anyone here think Chile, should they play Brazil in the 2nd round, can knock them out?

Why "sadly", Thierry?

They weren't good enough to stay in the tournament and therefore deserve to go out.

Who will be the next major casualty? Spain are the first but let's be honest, they were awful.

Definitely. Brazil look lacklustre and Chile have pace, fight and skill.

Spain deserve to be out and I'm sure they know that as well as anyone.

Hope they get something against the Aussies though so France are still the holders of the worst defence of a World Cup title. (If Spain and Australia draw it outranks France as Spain have actually found the net.

He played with a lot of those guys at Barca and was part of the beginning of that great team/tiki taka so I can understand why he feels bad for his friends.

Cesc, not good enough for Spain or Barca, yet Chelsea sign him

The champions are the joint first team going out. Unbelievable. Could never have predicted that a week ago
