Was that the one where they all fell out with each other and i think Anelka went home, or that might have been 2006

The fact that Spain have played in a tournament every summer (with the exception of 2011) since 2008 is really starting to take its toll now.

I reckon that Spain will get back into this.

Chile are a great attacking team and appear to have all the moves, but their defence looks a bit shaky. Losing possession needlessly and I think Spain will take advantage of that.

Chile have been giving away lots of silly fouls too, which I don't think is going to help.

Yeah, I can see Spain scoring a couple here. Hope I'm wrong though.

Spain also have to win if you want Australia to have a chance of progressing to the next round.

Taken its toll in what way? If it's fatigue you mean, then I don't agree. To me, the Confederations Cup is just a bunch of glorified pre-season friendlies. Or do you mean the fact they've played so much has given other teams more chances to work them out?

This Spain reminds me of the one from the 80's and 90's. Flattering to deceive.

It was those attributes that one him that penalty the other night.

He could do with losing a stone or two. Depending on what way Mourinho plays him, he's gonna find it really hard going in the Premier League.

I've got Spain in a double but I'll forego the whole 5 pounds it would win me if it meant tonight we could dance on the grave of tiki taka.

Serious he's only meant to be 25? I'm 27 and look a baby compared to him, he looks closer to 40 than 30

If they do win it keeps the next round of this group's games open which makes for better viewing. But we all love to see the winners defeated

Fatigue is a factor. Spain don't have a huge turnover of players they've used since 2008. It's been a steady select group of players that play all the time give or take the odd change hear and there. After long domestic and european season over a long period of time it was gonna catch up with them at sometime.

But your latter statement is the one I was alluding to. They've tweaked slightly but no tto much.

Another factor is mental. None of these players really look that up for it, they look quite bored.

Spain aren't really playing tiki taka.

They'd need a ton of goals though, and they'd have to score them against Spain. Can't see it happening.

Edit: They'd also have to do all that without Cahill.

Chile physically getting stuck into Spain here.

People naturally look to Brasil and the Argies in S America but perhaps Chile and Colombia will be the true beaters this Cup.

If Spain are lacking pace then it may be true when they say that they're run out of steam and physically need a break.
