In addition, Chilli would have to beat the Netherlands with Spain scoring another 8 goals in their next 2 matches if the Dutch score no more.

Spain 1 game played - 0 points 1 goal”

If Chile win or draw later they're definitely out, if Spain lose they're also officially out of the tournament.

Didn't Matt Smith say to Andros Townsend something like "you'll be joining me in Sau Paulo" meaning for the England Game. I dunno, Chiles has been getting a lot of stick, maybe ITV have noticed.

Means Smith will be at the stadium doing the same role Dan Walker does for BBC while Chiles anchors back in Rio. That is probably why he did the early game and Chiles the late one, because Smith has to fly to Sao Paulo.

You're probably right, Was hoping maybe ITV had managed to wangle a box at the stadium to broadcast from, like they do for every domestic game.

Shame we don't get that for any of the games, I would have thought space could be found for the broadcasters from the 2 teams involved.

Wish I hadn't missed this game!! Judging by the result it was a good one, I can't believe Australia only lost to Holland by one goal, fantastic effort by them

Many couldn't see Spain going all the way on the evidence of the Switerland match four years ago either. People are so capricious. Your prospects are only as good as your last match I guess. Honestly, the Dutch are still contenders. Sure I think the Spain blowout may have over amplified their outlook a bit. But rather than slate the Dutch I think the Socceroos deserve credit. But mostly, how many sides, especially the most fancied teams, look invincible right now? Not many. I'd say most of the supposed power sides look more vulnerable right now than the Dutch even with their little unexpected adventure with the Aussies.
