Meanwhile elsewhere in the World Cup, potentially massive news:

Quote:
“Ewan MacKenna ‏@EwanMacKenna
Rumours - unconfirmed may I add - here in press centres in Brazil that Cristiano Ronaldo is out of the World Cup.”

Quote:
“Seleção Brasileira ‏@BrazilStats
BREAKING NEWS - Portugal's doctor: "If Cristiano Ronaldo plays in this World Cup, the injury could end his career."”

Quote:
“David McDonnell ‏@DiscoMirror
Interesting Ronaldo left #POR training 30mins early with ice pack on left knee. Didn't look fit v #GER despite claiming he was #WorldCup”

The Millwall in him I guess.

Shame if true, a huge loss for Portugal.

Definitely Australia's half. All set up nicely for a cracking second 45.

The media will be in tears since they've been hyping it up that this world cup was all about Ronaldo vs Messi, as if nothing else mattered.

Shame for him if it is true, still think Portugal have a chance of going through though, but they've now lost Contrao, Pepe and Ronaldo.

That's very bad. It would also mean Portugal are finished in the competition. The epitome of a one man team.

That's when it wasn't Brazil's to win or the Wayne Rooney show.

Blinding goal but Van Basten's was better.

Cahill out of the next game is a biggie,

I expect he will either score another or take out Robben with an elbow in the second half,,,

Haha at Viera... "that was what i call a Roy Keane challenge..."

Massive blow if true. No Coentrao and possibly Ronaldo. USA will fancy their chances.

What a great World cup this is - love the way the Aussies are (currently) making my favourite team, the Dutch, look a bit ordinary.

I didn't forget. No point factoring in that headcase, seeing as most teams want him playing, to take advantage!

That's how I'm thinking too.

I want the Dutch to go far, but I'd also kind of like to see an upset here, or at least a competitive match, so I'm a bit torn
