Don't mean to threadjack but will put this here if it's OK, as we seem to be having a ragdoll discussion! Sorry for bad photo - done on iPad in poor light but is the only one I have that shows her sleeping in this weird position (with head upsidedown) - I have had a Persian and moggies and never seen another cat do this ->

And this is her face. Her eyes are as green as my moggy's - again a bad shot (kids took it) so her eyes look blue here, but are just bog standard cat green. She goes cross eyed a lot but havent captured it on a pic yet.

The other things that make me think she might be part ragdoll is the floppiness, and that she is vocal and, as I have seen on ragdoll sites owners saying, more like a dog than a cat. She does go outdoors but my ex neighbour had her as an indoor cat - and her son told me she "found" it as a stray so he knew nothing of her history.

The good news is that I GOT SOME SLEEP. He cried a little bit and then, I think, was quiet all night!

I took him out in the garden on a makeshift lead - so he had a sniff about and then didn't want to come in. Last night my resident cat slept on my bed for the first time since I've annoyed her (mainly cos I shut the window so she couldn't get out, but nevermind) and this morning I took her into the living room. She was terrified of the raggie but the raggie wasn't bothered at all, they didn't even sniff each other.

Hopefully my old cat will get over it a bit in time, she's scared of this new animal and is staying out a lot more. I am giving her a lot of attention when I see her though, giving her treats and not giving the raggie attention when she's around so hopefully she'll come round.

I grew up with moggies as a kid, before defecting to the doggy side, but I don't recall them ever been such total prima donnas - we'd just feed 'em and they'd bugger off and do their own thing...miserable bastards really.

All of your cats sounds utterly bonkers, in the most hilarious ways! Are pedigrees generally more highly strung than moggies, or is it just luck of the draw?

Mookle, that sounds like a big step forward from a day or two back. If you keep doing what you're doing I think they might end up like my two - never friends but rarely fighting. My old cat is not only 20 but tiny - people often think she is a kitten (she was run over at 6 months and stopped growing and also lost a leg). Despite being three legged and tiny, and the imposter cat being nearly as big as a small dog... the original cat is very much the boss. If they do have a hissy fight, it ends with the bigger cat walking away and the small, elderly, disabled cat thwacking her once on the nose. But they will sit in the same room just not together. I think original cats have the advantage in other words.

Sounds like you might start getting some sleep and raggy will settle in to a routine.

At least two of mine regularly do the upside down head sleeping thing! As well as other extreme sleeping positions (example attached http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h.../flatcat-1.jpg )

I have to say that your cat doesn't really look raggy, but that doesn't mean she hasn't got some of that in her somewhere! She might have some siamesey type influence - they are very vocal! She's lovely though!

There are definitely some breeds of cat that are odder than others - maybe they are more interbred so slightly bonkers because of that! I do not know

Aww my old cat is a little one as well, she's a lovely little thing, really friendly, a bit timid and with a really nice little mew (which I appreciate a lot more now!) - The raggie wasn't bothered at all today by old cat, just carried on mooching around as he does. So yes, hopefully they'll adapt ok.

A good night's sleep makes a difference, too, I bet. Think they will be fine. Like us, you feel protective of original cat especially as she's small but they will slowly adapt and find a level that is acceptable to them both, to share a space.

OK, so last night wasn't good. He was up again since 4am meowing SO LOUDLY. He sounds like an evil baby! It's CONSTANT as well, I don't actually know where he finds the energy!

Your cat could possibly be a cross Oriental - kind of looks like it has a pointy face. They usually have green eyes and they are well known as talkers. My boy cat announces his arrival back home from the top of the steps in the garden, and meows all the way along the corridor.

Both the girl and boy literally scream at me when I get home from work trying to out do each other telling me about their day!

I have a Raggie and she was determined she was going out from day 1. I got her as a kitten and she ripped up the cardboard I used to tape up the cat flap, so then I covered it in plastic and she ripped the masking tape off and got outside.
She miaows all the time. I have conversations with her.
They are amazing cats, really special as long as you don't mind being owned and woken UK that is.
