No red button for this game so we have to put up with Mark Lawrensons inane rumblings instead they've got crappy tennis on.

I really like Colombia. You know this is a good Colombia side when Antonio Valencia can't get into the team.

Ivory Coast are on the verge of being caught out on the break here. Check the next time Ivory Coast have a corner, as soon as they lost possession half of them were walking back looking half arsed and then a few seconds later when Colombia hit the long ball they were of course all still in Colombia's half. Very dangerous.

I have trouble getting my head round Mario Yepes starting for a fancied World Cup side in 2014. It was at least ten years ago he was referred to as a veteran. Quote:

What a frustrating match this has been. Lively, back and forth but with few chances and lots of squandered opportunities.

0-0 at half time. Quote:
Matter of time before Colombia score.

20th-25th minute is usually when the first goal is scored. Time for Colombia to step up.

A little better decision making by Colombia then would have proved Thomas007 instantly right there.

Howard Webb man of the match so far. Commanding performance. ENG-GER-LAND, ENG-GER-LAND, ENG-GER-LAND.

Not overly impressed with that 45. Lots of huff & puff but lacking quality in front of goal.

Thierry Henry is great (and rather lovely to look at), would love to see him on MOTD regularly once he's stopped playing.

But worse than that are his adverts. I know that they probably only took up a couple of days of his time, but they are constantly on. Gives the impression that he's more concerned about that than training. And why, anyway? Surely, he doesn't need the money! |

The Joe Hart ads are a bit strange, "I've got to be ready, I've got to be prepared" or whatever it is.
So if you're in the middle of a penalty shootout the first thing that's on your mind is that your hair looks good? Very strange. |

Nice to see it's not just English players who look so much better for club than country. Ya Ya's having a stinker.

The one big disappointment from this World Cup so far is the quality of the direct free-kicks. The standard has been pretty poor.

Hart: "It's good. But I'd happily hate everyone if it meant winning games" Thought that was a bit of an odd thing to say. |

Surprise stats.
Ivory Coast with 56% posession and 6 shots on targer. Columbia with only 1 shot on target. |
