That's good news; hardware acceleration for HEVC is still barely existent so optimising the performance of ffmpeg will be pretty vital.

I know that my purposely-low-powered HTPC with an Intel Celeron G530 can play 10-bit AVC files with ~50% CPU usage but I doubt it'll play HEVC. I do have a slightly faster Ivy Bridge Celeron which I could swap in but I doubt that'd make much difference.

Ah well, maybe by the time I'll need HEVC playback I'll want to turn my HTPC into a pseudo-console anyway, since the Xbox One and PS4 are so disappointing.
