I agree about gerrard but lampard hasnt been given a chance yet
He is a shadow of the player he was. It really pains me to say that, as a big fan of his.

It just goes to show either our pool of players is small, or the England management are unfit for purpose.

Neither Gerrard or Lampard should play as a defensive midfielder because neither can tackle.

What is it with Hodgson playing people out of position?

I also think he's a poor captain. He's no leader. Normally the captain role doesn't mean much, but in a slightly physical game like that he should have been in the referee's face all the time about some of the tackles. Instead, you hardly knew he was on the pitch.

When the guy who bought down the England guy last night, while being on a yellow card, captains from other countries, would have been in the refs face, and the victim, of the foul would have rolled over about 5 times, and also be in the refs face.

Gerrard isn't good enough at this level and hasn't been for about 4 years
Spot on!

He should have been axed after the last World Cup. Without his powerful running he has nothing to offer at this level!

The form for Gerrard will say his days are not gone at top flight football, but I do hope he retires from international football so we can bring in the new fresh players.

Gerrard Rooney and Lampard all out.

Not many DMs coming through for England. Or strikers for that matter.

Can't carry on fitting round pegs in square holes.

Or defenders. The talent pool is becoming increasingly smaller while expectation remains the same.

It looks like Lampard wont be getting any game time in Brazil.
Which is a massive shame in my opinion. I may be in the minority, but I have always rated Lampard above Gerrard.
