Sad if Scotland's greatest joy comes from England's failures. Doesn't sound like a strong, confident, independent nation.

I couldn't give a shit or give a second thought about England, English football teams or English people.
Sorry to disappoint you all. |

There will be those who enjoy seeing the disappointment of what they see as their main rival and will revel in that. There's others who don't really care whether England win or lose but get annoyed at the assumption on BBC and ITV that their viewers are all England fans or who will get annoyed at any media pundits being dismissive of the opposition (like Lawro). There's others who watch a lot of English football and would like to see England do well as they are our near neighbours. Personally I'm in the camp that will watch England games and take an interest but I'm ambivalent overall. |

Meanwhile in Ireland, there was a lot of support for England last night. There has been an amazing sea change in attitudes here in the last few years, especially since the Queen's visit to Ireland in 2011.

Being honest the general rule in Scotland is still want England to lose but outwith pubs it's never that bad.
Especially as so many English people live in Scotland anyway |

Especially as so many English people live in Scotland anyway There are thousands of English people living in Aberdeen due to the oil industry and in the pub I was in last night they made up the majority watching the football. |

Especially as so many English people live in Scotland anyway ![]() Albeit there are a few who take it a bit too seriously, which spoils the fun somewhat.
