Bernardez ran up like a rugby player attempting a conversion then.

Decent free-kick. Good effort from that range.

Don't know why they were all telling the referee to speak to his assistant, I don't think he would have overruled that blatant handball - plus he was offside.

End of an unexpectedly lively and entertaining first half between two teams with distinctly contrasting styles.

Ref should put his affairs in order.

Entertaining game this, both sides going for it.

I fully expect the second half to get dirty. Ecuador might want to wear a tad more padding. And crash helmets.

Would this fit the bill?

Wonder if the commentators are actually at the stadium or in a studio in Rio?

The latter.

Credit to ITV though as the sound mix doesn't make it too obvious.

The Joe Hart head and shoulders advert seems pretty funny now.

Which world cup team are you? A bit of fun before the fight - err, second half begins

I am Holland, apparently.

"If you were a World Cup team, you would be HOLLAND. You are a conflicted soul. You could start a fight with your shadow in an empty room, but you are also fun, affable and open. You can be difficult at times but your fiery temperament makes you exciting and loveable. Your charm is famous and, while you might not have fulfilled your potential, you have lived a full and true life. Winning is over-rated, conflict is necessary and you were right all along."

Is it me or is Andros Townsend the complete spitting image of Lewis Hamilton?

They could have made it less obvious by having someone other than Lee Dixon as co-commentator.
