Yeah I have that channel as well, I imagine there will be a backlash if England's game was moved to that channel though..

So,for the very few who don't have ITV 4 SD and don't want to watch England but rather watch the other game they switch the channels. Come on that would never happen particular given the advertising already booked.

Simple question

What will be the most watched game in the 3rd set of fixtures ? England v Cotsa Rica, obviously. So why would a commercial TV station not want to show it on their main channel ? Also, one thing to consider is that England games HAVE to be on FTA tv available to all. It is a total no brainer.

I for one, will be watching England.

I'm completely lost as to what's on where r/e red buttons (HELP when the Commonwealths come along...hockey HAS to be in HD otherwise I can't see the ball) but I'm presuming (for the W/C and Commonwealths) everything will be on the BBC app.

For the World Cup, Wimbledon, Glastonbury and the Commonwealth Games, BBC have 6 extra channels on Sky. 981-985 are in SD and 986 is in HD

All to play for in the other game”

It should be, I agree I will be watching the Uruguay-Italy game. From England's perspective the match against Costa Rica is completely meaningless, I don't really see what the point in watching that game would be. I think most casual fans have lost interest now that they know England can't qualify.

I am sorry but that is total rubbish. Do you genuinely, honestly think any other game will get higher figures than England in the last set of matches ?

ITV are not a sports channel relying on subscriptions. They are a commercial business relying on advertisers. Advertisers who will pay more for England on ITV 1 than Uruguay on ITV4. It isn't difficult.

How much harder to press is 103/178, than say 120?? Both require three button presses.

The same goes for matches on BBC 1 or BBC 3 (141/101 or 115 or even 981)???
Again three presses of a button, I don't really understand how it is that much harder to press one set of three digits than another set of three digits.

Would it really matter if the England match was on ITV 4 rather than ITV 1?? It still is as hard to get from one channel to the other.”

Are you referring to Sky, Virgin or Freeview?

Only 10 million have Sky and not all of those will be watching football.
