I have BT Infinity and whilst interrogating my HH4

Via The HH Manager and then

Troubleshooting > Helpdesk

i then come across this in line 8

8. BT FON: No

Does that mean it is turned off

When I go to check my status here https://www.bt.com/wifi/secure/index.do

it states my status as

BT broadband option: BT Infinity Option 1
BT Wi-fi community status: Opted In

Am I in or out , I want to be in

I guess that you must have had Infinity for some time as you say you have an HH4. I ask as it took BT about a month after I had the service (and my HH5) installed in March for them to remotely activate the FON service on my hub - the service is enabled by them sending it a remote command.

The main thing (for you) should be whether you can access OTHER peoples nodes as you say you are opted in. This can be tested in most places by not going too far .... I found another node to test this using my laptop in the street outside about 3 doors away1

We had Fibre fitted mid last year around July 2013

We used to get access to BT Fon Wifi but as of the last few weeks its been non existent

I seem to find free basic sky Cloud but not BT Fon / Wifi anymore

I suggest Opting out, waiting a day then opting back in again. See if that makes a difference.
