Amazing how this French team has come together starting with the second leg comeback in the playoffs. They look poised for a deep run now.

Hasn't he just signed for Villa for the forthcoming season?
Really? I hadn't heard that actually.

We have dropped a bit if I have counted correctly 67 from 24 games before this so 2.79 now
It was bound to come down at some point, especially with classics like Japan vs Greece. But I'm hoping with the goal history of this ground we'll get some goals tonight.
Can you guys hope for a strippogram to knock on my door, as your hopes seem to become reality.

Yeah he has, i'm willing to give him a chance, he has to be better than what we have struggled with last season

Goodness me, how vulnerable do Switzerland look at the back from set pieces?

Wasn't the goal Ecuador scored against them from a free kick?

You may want to recalculate that goal average.

That's 12 goals in 2 and a bit games at this ground. Gotta say that the keeper was poor for the 2nd one.

Just double-checked to make sure I wasn't just imagining it and indeed he has. Link.

I'm not sure if France will win this tournament but they're looking promising and are building towards the Euros which are at home for them next time round. They could well be favourites for that.

They are all a bit "Glen Johnson"

Ah, cheers. I've been out of the loop with anything non World Cup related recently.

Its looking like they'll be meeting one from Bosnia, Iran, or Nigeria in the next round. You'd fancy their chances against any of that lot, especially the latter 2.

France really hit the jackpot with the group they were drawn in, didn't they?

They scraped into the World Cup by the skin of their teeth and got the softest draw possible from the pot they were in, now they are taking full advantage.

If France continue their bizarre rollercoaster of performances in recent World Cup tournaments over the past 20 years, I wouldn't be surprised if they reached the final.
