I think Hoddle lost the plot and the dressing room after the '98 World Cup though. All that religious cobblers and Eileen Drury made him into something of a laughing stock and he never really recovered from it.

As a tactician and a manager he's actually pretty good and we went into the '98 tournament as one of the dark horses to win it.
He must have binned her off by now surely?

I would hope so.

She's still around, but I don't know if Hoddle has anything to do with her these days.

None of us will ever know what Glenn Hoddle could've achieved with England if he hadn't have made those foolish comments that ultimately cost him his job, but I don't honestly think that bringing him back 15 years later would be a good thing to do going forwards. Hoddle was originally hired in 1996. In 2014 the FA should look to find someone else who is more current.

I think he got involved in some wacky new-age pseudo-religion bollocks.

I would guess that he's moved on from it because I doubt too many TV companies would touch him with a ten foot pole if he was still involved in all that craziness.

People keep suggesting we get rid of Hodgson, but who is this "more current" manager you are referring to?

There doesn't seem to be an obvious replacement out there.

Personally, I don't think there is a current English manager around who is capable of doing the job. If we go for a foreign manager again, I would love Arsene Wenger to take it, but that's not going to happen.

As a Wolves fan , I normally have little time for Hoddle, but he really has talked sense in this tournament. For example, he rubbished the suggestion that, on Thursday, we were undone by Suarez, whereas in reality we beat ourselves by some shocking defending.

I do not think he should take over. The FA is correct to allow Roy to take us to the next Euros. I think we will see a marked improvement in the next two years.

He was definitely right with that.
