Was offered it he claims but decided against it after discussions with his wife. I actually think he would have the best chance of working with what's there and turning them into a team. He'd fall out with people along the way but he'd end up with his team and tactically he is a bit sharper than Hodgson.
But I don't see him taking it and trading in the day to day management of a club where he can control pretty much everything for the job of national manager where the coaching aspect of the role is much reduced.
And I don't see England or Chelsea allowing him to do both jobs. So maybe in 5-10 years time when he wants a smaller workload.

Yeah, I recently read an interview where he said he was very close to becoming the manager previously but his wife made him realise that he just wouldn't like having to wait so long between games, and conpetitions and having so little time with the players. He said maybe, much later in his career. I hope so.

I thought that it might suit him in 2016 to have a bit of a part time post. A bit like a career break of sorts. And still be young enough to then go back to a club afterwards.
And why would Jose take this job? I suppose he's burnt enough bridges that he doesn't have many places to go after Chelsea.
