Oh well. They can join England in the loser's bin. Well done, Nigeria.

Is it Dzeko who is smiling. It isn't even a sad smile.

Should be scoring, when the keeper saves it? I never understand that. It's not like he had any real time to control it. Commentators are BS

The linesman's decision was far more costly in this game than the two incorrect calls in the Mexico game. Mexico at least won their match. Bosnia are out because of a incorrectly disallowed goal.
Their would have been a completely different complexion to this match had Bosnia scored the first goal. |

Did Keown just say the Nigerian striker was a 'Power horse'?

So, Bosnia, my dark horses crash out after only two games. They play such lovely football at times, have such lovely technique, but just don't know how to put the ball in the net - something I never expected after their qualifying campaign.
Well done, Nigeria, a much improved all round performance. |

Although the disallowed goal was big, they still had a long time to get over it. They were just never gonna score in that second half.
Bosnia join those of us on the way home. |

Shows how funny a game it is. Dzeko scored a legitimate goal that would have made it a wholly different game but is being blamed for his team's exit for missing other chances.

Quite funny listening to Keown and Neville criticising Djeko's striking technique

Hopefully Iran beat Bosnia and Argentina beat Nigeria now, then Iran can still go through on goal difference I think.

Bosnia join those of us on the way home. They might have been more defensive too if they'd got that goal. Hate bad decisions! Ah well, bad luck Bosnia. |

Good day for Africa, Ghana with a very deserved point from a pulsating encounter with Germany, and Nigeria with a deserved win against a Bosnia team who ran out of ideas and in the end, luck.

Nigeria are the worst team likely to qualify for the round of 16. There's a real opportunity for anyone who tops Group H to get to the quarters.

Exactly it's not much. Have a linesman, teams get 3 challenges. If they challenge a reply is played if it is offside play continues, if the flag goes up late and play went on as normal give the goal/corner. If they still had play do a drop ball. An offside replay system doesn't really demand the type of technology as something like goal line tech.
Heck even the Match of the Day offside thing where they have a still image and drag the line across would do. If it's "too difficult to tell" do what they do in real life and give advantage attacker. I think it was Laudrup who set in a post match interview that we're too relaxed on wrong offside decisions. Which is completely true he also said it's a rule of football not simply a snap decision it is a rule, you can not be offside. |
