Now tv entertainment pass any good?

We had sky tv installed for the first time in about 8 years due to the free tv and broadband offer for ex O2 customers.

We just can't get into any content and we have everything apart from movies and sports.

Sky one, Atlantic, arts and fox occasionally has something we want to watch. We find on demand hopeless, plenty of times things have expired really quickly or taken ages to show and also incomplete seasons. Mrs left disappointed after game of thrones vanished, same with modern family.

Come renewal there is no way we will renew, we think it's poor for what you pay for.

So now tv, entertainment has most of the channels we occasionally watch. How good is the service? How much content is restricted due to licensing? Is it reliable and what is on demand like?

Thanks

At £4.99, why not just give it a go? There is no contract, so if after a month you don't like it, you can stop.

If you don't have a box to watch it, you can buy one for £9,99. There probably isn't a better value streaming box anywhere else in the world.

More details can be found in this review, but to be honest, just give it a whirl.

If the list above is exhaustive, then it has all of those. Freeview or Freesat on the side should get you anything else of note.

For £4.99/month I suspect it is much cheaper than you'd be paying for Sky.

It works, usually. Quite often there are buffering or other technical problems, but any missed shows are usually available on catch-up so it's a minor annoyance (the last two episodes of GoT worked perfectly, so they might have fixed the worst of these now). NowTV are pretty good at providing compensation (free months, gift vouchers) when the service fails so I can't really fault them.

The best source of this info is the official "unavailable shows on live channels" thread: http://community.nowtv.com/t5/Movies...els/m-p/139292

Reliable: see above.
On demand: works, and is generally more reliable then the live channels.

You're best off trying it for yourself. At the risk of sounding like an advert, the NowTV box is only £9.99 and if you cancel NowTV you still have a little streaming player that works with iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5.

That and an entertainment pass is probably still cheaper than a month's Sky subscription.

Others have pretty much said everything already, but as someone who hasn't missed Sky for 10 years, the NowTV ents pass has been worth it's money. Enough content to justify a fiver a month (Game of Thrones, Hannibal, Walking Dead, 24) and if there is little live, normally something on boxset, and even then I can still cancel at a click on a button without having a Sky rep try and "save" me.

If you don't have a device which will allow you to watch it on your TV get the NowTV box, and to start with avoid any of the lengthy passes. No point paying for 5 months of ents when you find that the service for you isn't great.
The only deal worth getting if it's still around is the £15 sport and box set.
