England can invade Wales (again). Forget about Scotland and Northern ireland. Nothing to see there.

Just pay these two to come over. There is always a price. And then get rid of them as per Kevin Pietersen after they have the Three Lions tattooed on their arms.

Heck Irishman Eoin Morgan captains England at Cricket.

Football is the world sport. So it is the opportunity for everyone to be patriotic and be proud of their nationality. Gibraltar is not entering Euro 2016 expecting to qualify for the finals. Likewise England does not qualify for the World Cup and European Championships Finals to win them. It is so every 2 years their football followers have a different destination to watch their nation play football. I expect they are already researching Qatar in readiness for 2022.

Obviously the OP considers herself as British and not English. She has events like the forthcoming Commonwealth Games to celebrate being British.

There's no British team in the Commonwealth Games.

It's what makes it so good.

Yes, that is what makes it so good!

As it is different from the Olympics, and you get to see different people at the tournament due to the four regions being apart.

Isle of Man compete in the Island Games as well. I'm totally lost as, having a separate FA, they can't join UEFA as Gibraltar clearly can. I read that the IOM's entry is much later than Gib's and has now been excluded on technicalities, whereas Gib's has been backdated.

At least it's one less team Ingurland can be beaten by.

Not one Scot would get within miles of a UK team.

We'd certainly be better with the likes of Gareth Bale (who wouldn't, he's world class) in the England setup; also, you can add the resurgent Aaron Ramsey to the list, but, ultimately, I don't think we'd do too much better than we're doing right now.

The England cricket team should be renamed, 'Passports 'R' Us!

If you can swing a bat well or chuck a leather ball in a straight line, the ECB will give you a passport & a central contract, no matter where you're from!!

The FA might want to learn some lessons there.

how would that help? Scotland and wales are even worse when it comes to football than England are, they didn't even qualify for the world cup.

Greenland does have a national handball team that manages to qualify for the World Championships - as a member of the Pan-American federation.

So maybe Scotland could join CONCACAF in order to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

They wouldn't qualify even if they were in the Oceania group.
