This will be a very interesting match indeed. Is Ronaldo out?

Cheers. There were rumours that he was out of the tournament and then I heard no more. They need him to do something because the US are hard to break down and Portugal have a lack of quality.

I do hope he is goal hungry tomorrow, if he plays. Bento hasn't said much about Ronaldo's condition but Miguel Veloso said that Ronaldo is running, training and shooting with no problems. I guess we will see tomorrow night. Really do hope he comes through for Portugal but I am not confident. Have a feeling we will be joining Spain and England soon.

I'm not Ronaldo's biggest fan but it would be good for the tournament if he is fully fit and grabs a goal because almost all the other top players have performed so far.

Yeah, and knowing Ronaldo he is most likely really annoyed about that lol I do hope he helps Portugal go to round 16 but I doubt it. It's not even just Ronaldo not being fit, or even Pepe not playing vs USA, losing Coentrao was a big blow for us. I'm not very hopeful but I do hope they prove me wrong.

After a cracker of a game tonight (Germany vs Ghana), the USA will top the group and qualify if they win tomorrow!

It will be good if we can get a second win and get out of the group in the World Series of soccerball.

The end of the DS World Cup Night Shift.
I've enjoyed most of these late games. I'll miss them in Russia and Qatar where there won't be any 8pm kickoffs, never mind 11pm.

Really hope the USA win this, although I am in doubts if I want them to win the group or come 2nd, because if they get through to the quarter finals right now I'd rather then play Argentina then France

Can't wait for this. Got work tomorrow, but screw it. This should be a corker.

The last of the late night games. There won't be another late night game like this until the 2026 World Cup (unless Qatar is stripped). So make the most of it because it's your last one for 12 years!

I can see this match being a little cagey due to the importance for both sides. Portugal need Ronaldo really but the USA will look to frustrate I reckon.

If its a draw tonight, you could see Germany and USA then playing out a tame draw which would see both going through with Germany winning the group

Last late night match and the match that also brings us to the halfway point of the World Cup; 32 games played, 32 games to go.

I've enjoyed most of these late games.
Let's have a recap of what we've seen in this late night slot:

13 June: Chile 3-1 Australia
14 June: England 1-2 Italy and Ivory Coast 2-1 Japan
15 June: Argentina 2-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina
16 June: Ghana 1-2 USA
17 June: Russia 1-1 South Korea
18 June: Cameroon 0-4 Croatia
19 June: Japan 0-0 Greece
20 June: Honduras 1-2 Ecuador
21 June: Nigeria 1-0 Bosnia-Herzegovina

Most have been fairly poor, you have to say, but Chile v Australia and Honduras v Ecuador were pretty entertaining; the best out of that lot for me, though, was Ghana v USA purely for the finish.

(That's excluding the England game, of course.)

Ah, yes, the latter courses of 'The Feast' - 4 games in 12 hours. Gonna be a long wait until we get fed like that again.

The last hurrah for the night crew.

Let's hope we get a fitting humdinger for the final late night offering.

Been looking forward to this game today, bet its being hyped up in America as The Worlds Greatest Player vs Team USA.

Infact that is actually probably the case, i do think Ronnie will do the buisness today, have just put a few quid on a Portugal win, and another on them to score thre
three goals or more

Surprised they dont have a bet available on Ronnie taking his shirt off

Four points should be enough to get us through, I fear the Portuguese will outrun us however

Yeah, I'll miss these late ones.

Especially as after they finish, you could usually switch to FilmFour and catch the end of Predator.

I mean, does it get any better than that?
