I wasn't sure who I wanted to win this but my silent fistpump when that went in betrayed my underlying feelings.
Haha

Scoring was the only thing he could do from there, I bet he was still thinking about some useless trick aswell

What do Portugal need to do to get out of the group? Surely USA can still take it regardless of this result?

This game is going to be a cracker. Portugal have found their form and the USA never give up.

Not too far off target for the USA.

If they win both matches and USA v Germany draw then they go through on head to head.

Nice effort from the free-kick by Dempsey.

From the Portuguese perspective, the group is going as expected. They probably expected that they'd get no more than a draw off Germany, so they'd need to beat the USA and Ghana to qualify for sure.

I thought it was goal difference, goals scored then head to head that determined the placings if level on points. Portugal really need to win this. A draw and hanging on by thread.

The American player elbowed meireles.
Not only that, he pushed him with his hand when he lay on the ground. Tense out there

Even though they're a goal down the USA look strong.

I bet that this is one of those games that may be won or lost on the slightest of margins. Like for example Ronaldo scoring in the last minutes against the run of play.

Absolutely.

Unless Portugal catch them on the counter and make it much more difficult as a result.

Not just Portugal as I saw 2 Americans on the ground too, different times, one massaging his ankle. Rough game from both teams, but it's still active

I forgot to add that in but if they have a better foal difference then they go through anyway.
It's if they're level then the USA wouldn't be able to advance because the would have lost to Portugal.
