Belgium manager good at his subs!
Nice strike and set up from Hazard. |

I missed the goal because I reading about National Express on Wikipedia. I still reckon the latter was more exciting.

Is it Capello's style of set up that is doing Russia no favours?.

Capello waited far too long to make his attacking subs. Didn't give his team much of a chance of taking over the game and now it seems to be too little too late.

Brilliant from Hazard again but Miralles should have scored.

Mirallas should've just put his foot through it.

Alan Greene has to be the most irritating commentator ever.

Credit to the Belgians, they may have been underwhelming in both games but they've won them both and qualified with relative ease.
Yet another effective substitution from Marc Wilmots, who I think may well be the coach of this World Cup so far. Should set things up nicely for South Korea v Algeria, as both sides will know that a win will give them one foot in the second round - more so for the Koreans. |

Remember how exciting Russia were way back in Euro 2008?

Belgium are incredibly frustrating. When they actually decide to bother they are very good to watch. I hope they're more positive from the out-set in their Last 16 tie.

People won't want to hear this, because we're in full on self flagellation mode, but England have actually played better than Belgium at this World Cup yet thanks to a more difficult group and a certain amount of bad luck we are out with 0 points and they are through with 6.
Which is not to say that there aren't real problems with our game or that Belgium can't get a lot better. |

Capello for England
![]() He seems to be on a mission to go from national FA to national FA, banking very large cheques whilst giving little in return, in order to bolster his pension fund. |

Belgium have only played well in brief spells in both games. Need to improve for the next round and the answer seems obvious - get Hazard into the game earlier. Maybe even play him off the striker.

Damn no more Seedorf or Henry on BBC.
That's a shame I've been really enjoying their input and views.

Gonna miss Clarence and especially Thierry from the punditry panel. More Savage and Neville now...

Not a great game but Belgium comfortably through and possibly first group winners without even getting out of second gear in either game.
Be interesting to see if they have other levels against better teams. This group teams might be through on just three draws |

Which is not to say that there aren't real problems with our game or that Belgium can't get a lot better. We had (as we always do) an easy qualifying group in which to get to a major championship. This is probably part of the problem, as we rarely get tested on qualifying & when we get to tournaments, we're ill prepared. |
