The England fans who travelled to Brazil
What should the FA and the players do to compensate the thousands of English supporters who scrimped and saved to get to Brazil to cheer on the team? I think the very least they could do is provide some free tickets for the next couple of England games at Wembley. I somehow doubt if they'll even do that. The travelling fans must feel so ripped off though.

why ?
they lost both games by the odd goal to two good teams the FA cant guarantee success , that's part and parcel of any sport, and any fans who did travel have to accept that |

I'm sure the Spanish and Bosnia fans are sending in their compensation claims as I type.

Nige, no one is forced to dish out money and go to a football tournament.

Oh get a grip. If you can afford to go to Brazil then you won't be needing compensation. Of course those that have will be real fans and won't be wanting any either. I'm sure they've had a great time regardless of England results.

The England fans who travelled to Brazil knew we were in a tough group and that group stage elimination was a very strong possibility. I don't see why they should be entitled to any compensation.

When the player's just could not be bothered and just wanted it over to go on holiday, then yes, maybe they should.

The England fans who travelled....
Made that choice so why should they be compensated? Besides a lot of them are probably there to enjoy the atmosphere of the world cup as well. |

Nothing.
It was their foolish choice to follow a bunch of proven losers. |

This obsession with people getting money because of the failure of a football team is genuinely brilliant to read. If this was ever taken seriously fans of Torquay are due a real windfall

Who says that they just went to support England? Maybe being part of the biggest football festival in the world was more important. I knew people who went to Euro 2008 even though England didn't qualify.
The World Cup is 64 games. Not just three. |

Can I be compensated for the time spent reading the below-par opening post?

What about when I went to Cyprus on my summer holidays and it p*ssed it down every day. Can I be compensated for that?
Lets face it, this is England and i'm sure anyone who went out there after our performances in recent tournaments were at lease reasonably realistic about our chances. |

Now had they lost 5-0 in both without a shot in anger you might have a point. I presume with your thinking had they looked bothered we would have won 5-0? What did you thinking of the cricketers who lost 5-0 in the Ashes then lost to the Netherlands in the World Cup? |

People don't have a right to see their team win every time they go to a match. The natural of sport is that sometimes, the team or players you supportwwill lose. Anyone going to Brazil to watch England who don't understand that are idiots and so is the OP.

£30 each. That's the amount the approx. 10,000 England fans can obtain in compensation from 1 week of Rooney's wages.

Well Rooney did score and set up a goal so you could argue he at least did something positive - can all the players say that?
Presume the ECB paid all those England fans who went down under to which the cocky and arrogant cricketers wimp out against the Aussies... |

They saw two decent games and probably Englands best WC performance since France 98 in one of them, not sure what they wouldve been expecting.
If losing two matches 2-1, is grounds for being compensated they'll be some rich supporters next season. |

Are myscimitar and NigelReo the same poster? Their threads and comments are so out there and neither seem to accept the consensus of opinion on here.
