‘EastEnders’: Khali Best, Rebecca Scroggs axed from soap
EastEnders bosses have made the decision to axe two of the soap’s characters.

Dexter Hartman (Khali Best) and Fiona ‘Tosh’ Mackintosh (Rebecca Scroggs) will depart the soap in the coming months.

The decision to write out the characters came after both proved unpopular with viewers. Khali Best, who has been with the soap for eighteen months, was recently suspended from the show for bad behaviour. Best is expected to return to filming in the near future: to tie-up any loose ends before his character of Dexter leaves Walford for good.

Rebecca Scroggs first appeared on screens in February; in a storyline which saw her character Tosh reunite with her girlfriend Tina Carter. It soon became apparent that it wasn’t all plain-sailing in their relationship, and, viewers recently saw Tina sustain a head injury during a row. The character is expected to leave Albert Square following the breakdown of her relationship with Tina.

The characters are expected to leave the soap in the coming months in ‘low-key’ storylines.

‘EastEnders’: Luisa Bradshaw-White handed recurring contract
EastEnders bosses have today confirmed reports that Luisa Bradshaw-White, who plays Tina Carter in the soap, shall now appear on a recurring basis, instead of the full-time contract previously held by the actress.

The news comes just moments after it was announced that Bradshaw-White’s onscreen girlfriend Rebecca Scroggs (Fiona ‘Tosh’ Mackintosh) had been axed from the soap alongside Khali Best (Dexter Hartman).

Commenting on her new contract, Bradshaw-White stated: “Although I am gutted that I shall no longer be appearing on EastEnders regularly, I’m looking forward to remaining with the soap in my new capacity as a supporting artist. Tina is such an eccentric and challenging character to play, I’m not ready to take off her novelty leggings just yet!”
