It looked like Cameroon were going to make a game of this earlier on. But it seems that they gave up the ghost in the second half.

I think FIFA better man the barricades for Brazil vs Chile, and reinforce their false walls.

Could be very special

In the build up no doubt you will once again see stories of Garrincha, Pele, Alberto, Rivellinho, Jairzhiino,Zico, Eder, Socrates, Romario, Ronaldo, rivaldo, Carlos, and Ronaldinho....etc

But let me remind you not to forget one guys goals I haven't seen much this year....

Josimarrrrrrrrrr !

Thank you all - that will be a great game - Chile will go all out and they play as a TEAM, not a disparate group of star footballers.

They are very fit too, who will run at players right until the end.

They do have an outstanding goalie.

Switched back to the Mexico game, then Brazil scored. Had to use the magic of my PVR to see that goal. Right, I'm staying with this game come hell or high water!
You haven't long to wait..it's over, and I was mesmerized just looking at the running ability of the Brazilians.

Thought it was an enjoyable game even after some hiccups.

Some very good goals in this game.

I reckon Chile will fancy their chances against this Brazilian side.

And the offside decision which wasn't given in this match.
And the dodgy penalty Brazil got in the first match. And the questionable disallowing of a Croatia goal.

Neymar is looking really good. He could do with some better support in attack though and that might be their problem in the knockout rounds.

Be honest - how many posters on this thread REALLY know what the offside rule is i.e. Fred was clearly onside for his goal?

He was onside, but it certainly wasn't clear. Only when you slow it down can you see that he's really behind the ball.

EDIT: Although watching the replay again, I think the view from the cross does make it look clearer onside.

Neymar was special today. I think he's got the potential to be one of the best modern day goalscorers, but I've said for a while that I don't think he's quite as skilful as he thinks he is.

Well, today was the most creative performance I've seen by any player so far. And he is probably the player under the most pressure to excel. Hopefully he can do it when it really matters as well.

As for the rest of the Brazil team, they have the makings of a great side, but Hulk was greedy, Fred has the ball control of a brick wall (and is about as fast) Oscar was off the pace, Luis and Marcelo always have an error in them and Scholari has to sort out just who he's going to play as holding middies. (Fernindo and Gustavo would be my choice)

Having said that, seeing how the Oranje dealt with Chile today, I expect Brazil to do the same now they know there is absolutely no room for error.

I did wonder why everyone was so certain it was offside in this thread but I was focussed on watching the Mexico game with only half an eye on the Brazil game so I assumed I'd missed an offside earlier in the build up.
