If Russia win they could leapfrog Algeria and go thru
to the last 16

If they get thru it will make Fabio look good and the press will say...
why did we replace Fabio with No Hope Hodgson ?”

Russia already drew with Korea 1-1.

USA v Germany ... should be a good game

Fingers crossed that America go thru it will
be a great achievement for them to get to the last 16 while Eng, Italy, Spain and Portugal are on the plane home.

Portugal could still do it but with a minus 4 goal diff... is that really possible ?

Russia v Algeria should be a great match too... 9 pm kick off
lets hope Russia win and get into the last 16

Ashley Cole and John Terry should have been there at the heart of the defence
and we would have got .... at least to the last 8 !

Hodgson is a loser.......

lets give Glenn Hoddle another chance

In the recent game in the 2014 world cup the Greece and Costa Rica match....
it went to penalties and then sudden death.

It was a big match... the prize ... a place in the last 8 .
The poor Greek guy who missed will have to live with that forever ... he let them down...
he is the reason that Greece did nt make it into the quarter final of the World Cup.

But does it have to be this way ? Do we have to stigmatize individual players in this way every World Cup ?

The solution would be for all 10 men from each side to go to the centre circle.
One by one all 10 men go up to take a pen .
There are two attractive young ladies at the side of the pitch... when one team scores the ref confirms the goal and the young lady on one side of the goal puts a big card with the Number onto a stand so the scores are always fully visible and on screen.

With all 10 guys taking a pen, there will prob be 4 or 5 who miss
At the end it will be 7 :5 or 5:4 there will most likely be a clear winner over 10 pens each..... but 4 or 5 guys will have missed so there will be no individual blame.

Its a simple, logical solution that will give a clear result but not put the weight and blame of defeat on the shoulders of one guy ..........

Come on Fifa..... lets do it !

The knockout stages have been very boring. The games just feel flat.

The Argentina vs Belgium game earlier today didn't have the majestic feeling or atmosphere you'd expect from a serious competitive match at a major tournament, like for instance England vs Argentina did in 1998. It just felt like a glorified friendly. Maybe it's just due to the gulf in class between the teams. The favourites get an early goal and kill the game or the underdog keeps a tight until finally inevitability conceding late or in extra time.

Yes , strange, you would have thought the France Germany match would have been an epic...
but it fell flat !

The Dutch are serial cheats... as much as I love Robben and his
attacking style... taking on the defence and running with the ball...
his dive against Mexico was blatent and the pen put out the mexican team

Then the gamesmanship of Krule during the pen shoot out was outrageous
he should have been booked and even sent off

Lets hope the Argies send the Dutch cheats packing on Wed

How about that for a brilliant prediction ?
spot on ..... but how many more boring nil nil draws can we take ?

120 mins of play and no goals... that has happened far too often during this tournement.

In the modern game defence has become an art and a
system... they know how to shut things down.

Goal keepers are bigger.... 6ft 6" and wearing huge gloves

The solution.... widen the goals by 1 foot
increase the height of goals by 6 inches.....

Lets loosen things up and have more goals....
lets make nil nil draws a thing of the past

its what everyone wants !

Not everyone. I prefer a tight tactical 0-0 or 1-1 game between equals to a rubbish 8 goal game.

More goals does not equal better football. But then my team is Italy

My wish has come true,
got to say though that Robben was the most exciting
player to watch in the whole tournement... he ran with the ball, took players on.... he was brilliant.

( how can a guy looking that old, be that good ......
so full of energy and running...
yet he looks about 44 ! )
