Looking forward to seeing the new BBAU series.
I know I'm in the minority and I know that this is going to be unpopular here, but I couldn't stand Tim. I really hope there isn't a HM there this year that's like him. I was so wound up by him and I was gutted that he won. If there's one thing I hate when it comes to a BB HM, it's a HM that's contrived, and he was the most contrived HM I've ever seen. He was totally narcissistic and was desperate for attention. Every single thing he did and said in that house was for the cameras and to make himself look good for the viewers. For example: - The Tully nomination moment, where he turned round to her and shouted, "Did you get that, Tully?" (He should have been punished for that as nominations are supposed to be confidential.) - The constant choosing his ice-cream over Tahan's hairdryer. - The deliberate putting himself up for eviction. He also tried to make others look bad. For example: - He thought it was up to him to try and show the viewers qualities he deemed "bad" in other HMs. - He didn't like Ed and tried to start a showmance with Jade, (but quickly stopped when he realised that that wouldn't work as she was too into him). - He tried to make the people he didn't like lose their temper by blowing into straws noisily around them. He even admitted afterwards that he was hoping that they would lose their tempers. And yet, if anyone tried to do the same to him by pulling pranks on him, he hated it and he'd go off into a big sulk. I recently found a website where someone, (similar to yohinnchild's poll), is in the middle of ranking every single BBAU HM from all their series. They started with their least favourite HM, and it was Tim. I think they described him better than I can: What that person said: http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/sreply...U-Gretel-FTMFW What someone said in relation to that post: http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/sreply...U-Gretel-FTMFW |

Luckily for Tim, most of us thought he was hilarious and made the show.

The problem with Tim was that he was pushed by the producers from the start and over several months that can be a bit tiresome. In the previous series Estelle gradually became more predominant which worked better.

I quite liked Tim. I would have liked if Tahan had won, but I was OK with Tim too, as he was at least entertaining.
He was contrived sure, but played a good game, so good luck to him. He certainly knew what he was doing with the ice cream. Since that was clearly a cross promotion (naming the brand of ice cream as being Tim's favourite) so he knew that by making a thing of it, he would get guaranteed screen time. Ben also was quite contrived. The muttering to his photos was probably planned: he probably realised that if he made it funny enough it would make it to air - and we wasn't sharing the stage with any other housemate. I am glad dull Ed didn't win. I thought he was playing the showmance angle (stringing Jade along) plus he wasn't that entertaining. |

To be honest, every housemate is contrived. If they aren't then BB puts together VTs to portray them as a caricature and they end up coming across contrived anyway. Truth is, any smart housemate knows that to appeal to the audience you have to have an instant selling-point. Something that the audience can instantly relate you with. As soon as a housemate knows what will get them across to the audience they are obviously going to run with it and milk it for all it's worth.
Everyone had positives and negatives in last year's series, so any little flaw or irritating habit they had didn't really bother me after a while. I had to look at the complete package and I felt Tim had the most complete package of all the housemates. |

The thing that got me, people criticised Ed for using someone to try and stay longer in the house, but praised Tim when he used people to try stay longer in the house. Why was it acceptable for Tim to do it, but not Ed?

So excited now it's getting closer!
Ugh Ben. He was so obviously fake that I didn't find it entertaining or endearing at all. His eviction was a huge shock but so amazing to watch hopefully we have housemates as amazing as Tim, Tahan and Mikkayla this year!

The only thing i dislike about the Australian version, is how they make Big Brother's perception to be a singular person.... "as always Big Brother has a few tricks up his sleeve". I prefer Big Brother to be more like a secret organization or legion entity, where there's a multitude of people linked to Big Brother, you can't trust anyone... even your own parents could be Big Brother.... it could be anyone sort of thing. For it to be one person really takes away from the concept imo, unless that's just the face for the greater entity. Big Brother Australia is still amazing in every other way though, it's a minor complaint. I can just use my imagination and make it into something else, like being the face of a greater entity... but just saying. Hehe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNanwS-_7c0 Hrmmm. That was.... weird. Haha @ Sonia slamming the staff down, so cheesy. ![]() There's an obvious Naoh's Ark theme there, with the storm [flood] and the Ark and where Noah brought two of each kind aboard the Ark. "A new breed of Housemate has been chosen" Looks like.. two of a kind as a pair maybe? Business | Doctor | Farmer | Fitness | Alternative | Hipster Not sure how the others would be classified as types, there was two people in robes that looked Middle Eastern, and then there was two slightly overweight people that didn't seem to have anything else to make them standout. No nerds/geeks? Hmm. That would be a missed opportunity, every group needs some nerds/geeks. Holding hands implying some type of partnership or bond.... And the snake among them with the snake tongue possibly paralleling the Garden of Eden and temptation. People having to play together as a duo based on similarity of some kind would be my initial guess, sort of like Drew and his fake Wife had to, or like in Season 11 of US where they were divided as groups based on type. |
