TOP: BBAU
BOTTOM: BBUK

Who did it better? I think BBAU looks nicer

Hoping the pairing thing doesn't last long.

I don't like this pairs thing, especially nominating as a pair.

I assume it will start out with a pairs twist (if that is the actual twist) and eventually be scrapped.

I do like the head of hosuehold being introduced though

Thanks.

Hrmmm. That was.... weird. Haha @ Sonia slamming the staff down, so cheesy.

There's an obvious Naoh's Ark theme there, with the storm [flood] and the Ark and where Noah brought two of each kind aboard the Ark.

"A new breed of Housemate has been chosen"

Looks like.. two of a kind as a pair maybe?

Business | Doctor | Farmer | Fitness | Alternative | Hipster

Not sure how the others would be classified as types, there was two people in robes that looked Middle Eastern, and then there was two slightly overweight people that didn't seem to have anything else to make them standout.

No nerds/geeks? Hmm. That would be a missed opportunity, every group needs some nerds/geeks.

Holding hands implying some type of partnership or bond.... And the snake among them with the snake tongue possibly paralleling the Garden of Eden and temptation.

People having to play together as a duo based on similarity of some kind would be my initial guess, sort of like Drew and his fake Wife had to, or like in Season 11 of US where they were divided as groups based on type.
Watching the launch episode now,

Hah. I called the pair thing way back on the first promo. Need to step up your game Big Brother.

I can't tell all these white people apart.

They clearly casted for romance and not entertainment.

I don't hate it yet, I mean its only 2 episodes. Its very obvious the last 2 couples were put together as matches for possible romance since BB paired them.

The only 2 I don't like from the start are the "blokes" Travis and Ryan. Annoying me straight away.

Same, I don't really like Ryan that much. I think Travis is the replacement for Caleb last year, interested in girls with not much going on upstairs

Eugh, one day and all these little morons are being a-holes cause they're forced on the slim fast diet.

I'm with Skye on all this. Love her thus far.

As ditsy as Skye is, she is the one whose attitude to the whole slim fast thing is the most admirable. She is just willing to go for it and put up with it.

Priya and Katie were not going to be given 10K that easy. The psychological games that BB has put in place to guilt them into feeding their housemates with their own money is a very clever move.

To be brutally honest, I wish both the girls would hold steadfast and refuse point blank to part with a penny of what they were told is THEIR money. Let them eat milkshakes for a week, who cares. The worst that can happen is they are nommed instantly and evicted. SO WHAT. They would exit with a guarantee 10K , as opposed to be guilted into parting with lots of it just to keep the others in a few burgers for the week.

Strength of character is called for here, but it looks like both girls are crumbling under the pressure to feed their fellow housemates, well Katie is certainly ! Priya would let them rot …. I can see it in her eyes LOLOL.

Yeah Priya would totally leave them haha. The weird thing is how Jake is on such a high horse over it even though he was supposed to be the more similar to Priya personality wise which suggests he actually wouldn't be dishing out the cash if the situation was him.

I've gone off Lisa and Sam over this, they're so petty.

Why should they pay to feed the people who will nominate them for eviction next week? They believe the money is still theirs since it's prize money. They need to tell them that it's legally theirs now

Just catching up on BB Aus and am on episode 5 right now. Not to keen on this cast so far, last year blew them out of the water in comparison. That said, it's early days and I'm sure some will grow on me. Really don't like Priya or Gemma.

Interesting take on the power housemate thing. Very similar to our set-up this year, but again, done better I think. Especially this whole Diner thing and the money issue. Interesting none of the HM's so far are willing to spend their money now they have $300 each.....

Skye seems relatively harmless and perhaps the most encouraging of them all so far.

I'm currently catching up (I'm on episode 7 now so almost there), but I'm wondering about this year's nominations. Do they nominate just one pair each week, or two pairs?

I'm not loving the pairs thing, I was never highly enthusiastic about it to begin with.

They are going to nominate in pairs, and must nominate pairs. So it comes to eviction night, and obviously one pair will get the lowest vote. Its then put to the housemates themselves... LIVE and on the spot .... to pick which ONE of the lowest polling pair to evict. So only ONE person is going per week even though pairs will be up.

Presumably that means the surviving housemate of the pair continues their journey in the house alone, which has it's advantages. You can vote the following week for whatever pair you want without having to keep a partner happy or make any compromises. You also get to get a bit of revenge over whatever housemates picked you to GO on eviciton night. Thats where it will get interesting and awkward !!

Ah yeah, I'm glad that they're not evicted together. So, week by week, I assume there will be less pairs in the house. I just hope they don't then pair up housemates who've lost their partner. I'd like the surviving half of the pair to continue the game solo.

I've caught up on the first week. Here are my thoughts.

My faves are Aisha, Lawson and Cat. All three seem really nice and I loved seeing Aisha and Lawson beat Skye and Lisa in their challenge. Its a shame Cat is paired with Travis, whom I'm not keen on. She is probably my favourite female housemate.

I also like Sandra, and feel bad for her that she is stuck with David. It would be kind of frustrating if your partner is constantly messng up with the rest of the house.

I'm indifferent to Dion, Jason, Sam, Ryan and Jake. Priya was good at the start, but she has faded into the background a lot since.

I dislike Travis, Lisa, Katie, Skye, Gemma and David.

I liked Skye at first, but she has quickly starting to really grate on me. Her reaction to the panel game was so ridiculous and childish.
Both Gemma and David have annoyed me with their comments, and I really disliked Gemma saying she knew she would get the sympathy vote. I can totally see where the housemates are coming from with the pair of them and TBH I wouldn't miss either of them if they went.

I'm not liking them giving Dave a hard time, I feel really bad for him. Everything's been totally blown out of proportion. I really hope they appreciate that he didn't kick up a stink when Sandra stepped down, I think I probably would have.
