Dont know if theres been a thread on this but i was watching Danity Kane vids and old DC performances on YouTube and it kinda inspired me. Also this is a GROUP therefore i haven't just picked 5 amazing singers, as that is not what makes a good group. Just include any female artist, dead or alive who have previously been in girl group.

Here are my picks:

Beyoncé (Destiny's Child) - How could I not include the queen.

Nadine Coyle (Girls Aloud) - No matter what people on here think that voice is just pure class.

Dawn Richard (Danity Kane) - Probably an odd, lesser known choice, but just watch her live she is absolutely electrifying, an amazing dancer with a distinctive unique voice.

Cheryl Cole (Girls Aloud) - Before anyone argues, she is a great performer and despite her lack of vocal capacity she really does have that natural star quality, and her voice isn't as bad as everyone like to make out.

Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes (TLC) - Another random choice but she did add something so special to TLC. Also she was a phenomenal dancer, and could also wasnt a bad singer as well as being a rapper.

Beyoncé (great voice, great performer. Lead of the group.)

Cheryl Cole (lacking in vocal ability but has great stage presence. Also has the looks.)

Nicole Scherzinger (hot and has some powerful vocals. Will be known as the 'wacky' member of the group.)

Jesy Nelson (unique vocals, good at beatboxing. Also has a good R&B voice to complement the other members.)

Beyonce, Nicole Scherzinger and Nadine Coyle would definitely be in the group, not sure on the other two though, as there would be five in the group.

My one certainly wouldn't have Cheryl in it.

The best suggestion so far.

Super-groups often tend to end up being less that the sum of their parts. The ultimate girl group would be one where the members can sing well and who recorded strong material with good musical backing and production. The 1960s isn't a bad place to start looking.

I have to agree, I went with The Ronettes purely due to the quality of their material, The Shirelles would be a close second.

My girl group would be

Chilli (TLC)
Toni Braxton (The Braxtons)
Alesha Dixon (Mis-teeq)
Nicole Sherzinger (Pussycat Dolls)
Dawn Robinson (En Vogue)

Also, I think Mutya (ex Sugababes) has a fantastic voice but I ran out of slots!
