Some of the African defending has been stereotypically awful in this tournament.

That awkward moment Greece could actually be making it through.

That was their 1st goal of the tournament as well. I think that leaves Iran has the only team who haven't scored yet (and they were unlucky vs Argentina).

Nice goal from Japan.
Think I'm right in saying that as things stand, if Japan take the lead against Colombia they'll go above Greece into second spot on goal difference. |

YES! Japan equalise. If they win then they can go ahead of Greece.

Dreadful mistake puts Greece in front!
What a terrible error by Tiote at the heart of the Ivorian defence, just took his eye off the ball, lost control and allowed two Greeks a clear run on goal. Did get the feeling the only way Samaras would get a goal in this World Cup was if it was presented to him. |

It wasn't Samaras.

Blimey Greece currently in 2nd place in the group, but a goal in either game could potentially still take either Japan or Ivory Coast though. Fascinating stuff!

Frustration could be setting in right now for IC, which might be what they need, to get going

Great effort by Greece. Fair play to them, they have moved the bus and are having a go!

Seemingly it has given how quickly they've come out of the traps in this second half.
Good start to this second half in general with the Greeks having a go too.

Greece playing well now, a second goal and they can relax. Samaras ploughs a really lonely furrow, deserves a lot of credit.

The crowd are very depressed and quiet. The atmosphere is not the best in this world cup when a no South American teams play.

Ivory Coast still only able to carve out half-chances due to the quality of the Greek defending.
And only the crossbar stops them going 2-0 up! |
