Outlook Problem Since Homechoice Installed
I had Homechoice installed about a montha go, and am pretty pleased. However, I can't send emails without an error message coming up, despite changing all the relevant Email settings. It's not the end of the world as I tend to go to Freeserve/Wanadoo, and access my account through that, but I did wonder if there was a connection or if anyone else had experienced a similar situation.
It might also be my McAffee anti-virus software, but would appreciate some feedback! |

I got problem in outlook when I first installed HC. Then I rang up their customer service and they talked me through all the settings and since then it works fine. Not sure if you got exactly same problem as mine but their customer service is quite helpful.

Are you trying to use your Freeserve/Wannado address and email servers via HomeChoice? Most ISPs don't let you access their mail servers (usually outgoing but sometimes incoming as well) from another ISP. If you've got Outlook set up to use the HomeChoice outgoing SMTP server, it may be that HomeChoice's mail servers don't like you using a return or from address which is not @homechoice.co.uk

Zapomatic - I thought that it might be to do with me not having a Homechoice Mail address. I shall investigate.
Indiekid - I will call CR and see if they can talk me through. They have been pretty good so far - not that I am tempting fate! |

You're using smtp.homechoice.co.uk as the SMTP server on all your account now? Even the non Homechoice ones?
I only ask because Wannado/Freeserve have a system in place which gets around this and redirects their customers' outgoing mail through their servers - most ISPs don't do thia and you have to use the correct SMTP server. |

I had the same problem and thought it was to do with not having a HC email account. All I did was change the Outgoing Mail server to smtp.homechoice.co.uk, as mentioned above and it worked. Thanks to M_at for pointing that out.
