We haven't really seen much of Johnny this year. June is a very busy month for Johnny and I'm glad he's getting his chance to shine.

Very much agreed. Aside from New Year sort of time with him coming out, end of March/beginning of April, and last week with the Albert attack and this week with (hopefully) the resolution to his tension with Linda - he's been firmly in the background - perhaps not as much as Nancy - but he's been in the background.

Sam Strike is a great find for EastEnders and I'm glad those behind the camera are recognising this.

That's my full name, Elly The Truth Speaker.

I disagree about Ben Hardy, though. He was exceptional during the scenes at Lucy's funeral and during the aftermath of her murder reveal but other than that I find him decidedly monotone and completely lacking in chemistry with any of his co-stars - something that Sam Strike has absolutely no problem with. To be honest, out of the younger actors in EE, the only ones that I really rate are Sam, Jamie Borthwick and Maddy Hill (though as much as I love Maddy I would need to see her doing a bit more in the way of dramatic scenes before I go overboard for praise with her. Hopefully she's got something good coming up.)

Indeed.

You've got a point I guess - when Ben Hardy's acting is good he's good but that isn't consistent. And even the yowling after finding out about Lucy's death was more weird than upsetting. And maybe his lack of chemistry with others is why I've never warmed to him. Tbh I was just trying to be objective. Sam Strike is more consistent in his acting - and it almost feels like he gets on with the characters he communicates with the same in real life - thats how natural an actor he is. Like him and Nancy yesterday - I can almost sense that is how they are in real life - and parts of their scenes were probably improv.

Nancy really needs her own storyline asap. She barely has any connections with anyone aside from Mick and Johnny really.

I really like Johnny, but even I was getting bored of him last night. There was no need for that hour-long fannying around over a few failed exams. Just resist them. It's not like they were high school exams, which would mean repeating the course.

You wound me, Grad. He did say that he would resit the exams and he did admit in a very matter of fact way that it was his fault he'd failed them. I think the reason he was so worried was because he didn't want to disappoint his parents, which, when you've got a mum like Linda, is probably fair enough!

I like Johnny but he's slightly starting to annoy me and it's not his fault it's just the way he's the favourite, especially how Linda was with him I feel sorry for nancy there's a lot of poor Johnny stuff where poor nancy barely has her mother talk to her. I just felt Johnny was a bit if a baby with the exam results it overall I do like him it's all Linda's fault really

Hehe, sorry El! No worries, I still love him! In Linda's defence (something I'm not prone to) I don't know what Johnny was really wanting from her this week, regarding the break-in. Although, he was out of order about his coming out, I felt he was being unfair to her this week. He can't moan about her not seeing him as a 'fighter' when he constantly lets her baby him, without complaint.

As for the exams, I don't think many parents would be gutted if their kid failed a uni exam which can be redone during the summer. Johnny should cut Linda a bit of slack sometimes, and well, he's bound to have know that Mick wouldn't care if he failed.

I agree that he's probably a bit difficult with Linda at times but she's also equally difficult with him and it's obviously all building up to this massive argument between them which should then hopefully clear the air for good so that they can stop going round in circles. And what a relief that's going to be!

Although he was right to be worried about those exam results as she clearly was disappointed about it even if she didn't say anything to him directly. I think her actions tonight will justify why he was so nervous about telling her.

Are you saying that Anthony Cotton is a stereotype ?

Johnny is very much like his mum. They are both conscious of their image, both sulk when things don't go their way, and both find it difficult to be honest.

Felt embarrassed watching the spineless.coward trying to stand up to the bouncer last week. Johnny is one of life's losers been taking lessons from Billy and Ian he shouldn't get any screen time axe him.

There's something about Sam Strike's portrayal of Johnny that endears him to me so much. I realise everyone is entitled to an opinion but I think he's a perfectly adequate soap actor and very natural on screen

Unfortunately his acting ability is poor to average. In all soaps characters have dominating weeks and later appear less times, that's how soaps work

I cannot stand Johnny and the lad who play's him isnt very good. I wish he would stop talking like he has a sore throat and stop looking like he is in constant pain all the time.

Much prefer Nancy. Like the actress's work so far and is a good, fun character.

I have noticed that Male characters who are gay always get a lot of attention on the forum e.g Ste and Brendan, John Paul, Christian and Syed and now Johnny.

I don't think he gets that much screen time to be honest. He has only appeared frequently lately.

I like Johnny but I don't understand why he is used so much more than his sister.

We need to see more of Nancy.
