Ah, Steph and Tina, one of the greatest Corrie friendships of all time. Second only to Hayley and Cancer Jane.

They lived together for a little under three months.

My memory of Tina and Steph's scenes is Tina returning home in a stroppy mood after an argument with Peter in episode after episode, not quite the fun flatmate she was in Steph's video.

Couldn't agree more, if they're going to make out that Steph was so close to Tina and had a laugh with her (rather than in reality where she just whined at Tina about Peter), then they should have translated it on screen before Tina died. Way too much focus on her for my liking, and it doesn't even seem to be going anywhere just the same scene over and over.

She knew Tina for a few weeks yet was in too much of a state to go to her funeral. I find her over the top and annoying and silly.

Rita warned her off with a cheque.

Dont like this character but no doubt she will soon be dating Kal's son because people who visit coronation street are always single.

She was originally Katie's friend amd I remember everyone on here loving her and asking for her to be given a regular role, I never liked her.

Everything about Tina was fake from her tan to her personality so it's no surprise her friends grief is also fake.

Can't say I've noticed.

I'm sure you haven't Dave. I just think people should bare these things in mind, it's one thing people berating the character but when you take into account that she has delightful norks then, on balance, I think she's a great character.

Her reaction over Tina's death definitely hinted at something beyond just grief - there is certainly more to it and I'm intrigued about where it all might be going.

As others have said, they lived together for a couple of months. Wailing like a baby, refusing to go to the funeral, releasing balloons, constantly eulogising about Tina, comes across as extremely unusual. I don't know if it's the writing or the performance, or both, but it's coming across so far as completely unbalanced behaviour.

It's really obvious that they alienated Tina from characters her own age (and then pretty much the whole Street) so they have to invent this 'really close' friendship just so someone could stay home and mourn her.

They are milking the grief for all it is worth, trying to make out Tina was some bubbly fun character most of the time. Am I meant to forget the times she was stroppy and bitchy to everyone, attacking customers, pouring pints over people, vandalizing property, stealing alcohol in the Rovers and getting drunk in the park (and indirectly getting Rita beaten up). Even Tyrone and Fiz praising her for helping them with Kirsty turned my stomach, I didn't see the gratitude when she assaulted a pregnant Kirsty in the pub.

And David seems to have forgotten the times he was hacking into her computer, making her lie in court, tormenting her father and tried to rape her. But erased and acts like he has been her best mate all these years.

It's tragic a young girl was killed, but a 5 second video of Tina dancing to S Club 7 is not going to make me forget these moments she was annoying. Sorry writers.

I think this over the top behaviour just reflects the current bad writing. I think the actress playing Steph is pretty good but the words they've given her are more suitable for someone mourning a friend who say they grew up with, went to school with and shared their first flat with. If I remember Steph came into Corrie as a friend of Katie, those two seem odd together too. None of the writing reflects the true situation.

I don't have a problem with people remembering only the good parts of someone, that is realistic but for me the only one who is anything like believable is David. Maybe because David has grown up on the street he is easier to write for, with Steph they just give her lines and don't really work on developing a proper personality. Shame as I think she could be good.

I struggle with this whole storyline though as I've never liked Tina as a character and a street party is more appropriate in my eyes now!!!

Slightly off topic but why hasn't ANYONE on the Street realised how over the top and weird Rob's behaviour is....??
