Space Pirates I've only listened to once or twice ... maybe I'll have to dig it out for the next long car journey?

I too have only seen the recon but if you listen to the audio track on it's own compare to other audios like The Savages, The Abominable Snowmen, The Dalek Masterplan etc, it still comes across very poorly in contrast to those stories.
I doubt the story will ever be considered a classic but it may well get a critical re-evaluation when we get to see it properly. |

I watched the animated episodes of The Ice Warriors and they were massively inferior to the other, non-animated episodes of the story. That's not because the animation was terrible, it wasn't, it's because the performances often make or break a story, especially a weak story. And in Troughton we have the best visual performer in the show's history. He can make paint drying seem interesting.

I love The Abominable Snowmen, absolutely love it. Don't know why we disagree on so much when we have a mutual admiration for The Savages.

Abominable Snowmen is the one where I find Victoria at her most annoying, but that's nothing I haven't gone on about before....

I'm with CHJ: Debbie Watling is especially shrill in Abominable Snowmen. Six episodes of capture-escape stuff is a bit dull. The Intelligence's scary voice is wonderful though.
Sorry we disagree again, Davey! I still love ya! x |

About to finally watch Web of Fear today so hoping that isn't a too dull 6 parter -well 5 parter (it definitely wasn't dull in the Target novel, or opening episode which I've already seen) |
