Hopefully Benzema can keep pace with Neymar.

Ecuador are on a knife edge, as Switzerland are on the same points but with a -2 worse g/d
Honduras have only scored one goal so the Swiss will surely go for it and hope France batter Ecuador |

I guess France will rest some players for this game, they should still win comfortably.

I hope they don't rest Benzema as I have him for golden boot. I'd expect another comfortable French victory tonight but the South American sides shouldn't be underestimated.

I can understand it. What if one of their more important played today, even though they are more or less guaranteed to win the group, and gets injured missing the rest of the tournament?

I've got Benzema as a golden boot bet too, so that's almost cemented his spot on the bench. It's the same reason Klose hasn't been started, Van Persie missed the last game and Lukaku hasn't touched the ball.

What's going on?
A World Cup match thread not started by Peter_Lamy?! ![]() By the way, I hope Ecuador win (I'm not being anti-French). I just want to see all the South American sides through to the last 16. |

Then so be it. You can't not play people through fear of injury.

To be fair I think the title of the one by Peter Lamy is better as it gives the channel and time in the thread title, not sure why they locked that one.
I think most people are well aware by now what time the matches are on. |

Well, yeah it's all part of the strategy. If someone gets injured in a match that matters then fair enough, but when the match is pretty meaningless in terms of progression it looks much more unfortunate, as they essentially didn't require that players services, best to save players for more important games. It's not an unusual thing to do.
Also there could be a fear of bookings |
