Pogba and Giroud have both thrown elbows in this match
Think Giroud ban would strengthen the French squad

The Ecuadorian keeper either has exceptional situational awareness, or the French are just literally firing shots straight at him.

I'd agree Dix. His cramp has gone now
No wonder he got cramp, as catching all those balls would give anyone cramp. Gives his team a chance though

Well, that was disappointing. Expected a lot better from both teams.

The Brazilians sure hate the goalless draws they've booed every single one even at half time.

That's it for Ecuador.

France go through with Switzerland and it's hard to argue that they weren't the two best teams in the group.

All of a sudden, Nigeria look much more likely against France now.

I don't think France gave it their all really as they knew by about 70 mins that they were probably topping the group let alone qualifying.

I think Sakho will be in trouble for that elbow, expect a ban to follow.

Anyone suspicious that refs are being given advise in their ear pieces from someone watching on TV. Linesman actually gave a throw in to Ecuador and only sent Valenica off after many tv replays and a 4th official talking to him and strangely covering his mouth.

They cover their mouths to prevent lip reading.

I think France were really trying for around fifty minutes or so at least and even though they were missing at least three important players they looked to be struggling to break Ecuador down. Perhaps they could have even been punished if Ecuador had more nous in the final third. I still make France favourites but I think it will be a much tougher match against Nigeria than it looked like being before this match started.

But what can the 4th official tell the ref from that distance about the foul, or is he passing on instructions from someone viewing on tv?
