first season of BBus was like the UK format, but it didnt work out so well. so the next year CBS changed it to its current format which is where stratigic gameplay comes into the game, rather then playing on the emotions/likes/dislikes of the public. they create alliences and work together to get others evicted. bbus the entire game is in the hands of the HMs which sometimes ends up with the winner being one of the HMs the public hates. i like how bbuk allows the viewers to decide the outcome of the game, you feel more involved rather than just a spectator.

In recent years though they are getting the public more and more involved in the game so it's drifting back towards the social experiment style.

I worry this season could have too many twists but we'll see, I like it so far. BB 10 was pure and was really entertaining.
I can see why they did America's Team after how predictable last seasons evictions where however I worry that these public choice decisions usually favor the pets of the producers, in BB8 it saved Dick's ass, it reintroduced Brendan for Jeff/Jordan/Rachel in BB13 and gave Big Jeff the Coup D'Etat to ruin Chima's HOH in BB11. |

He's overplaying her as "the most famous person in the world" (he probably said that because he's a slimy little famewhore clinging to her celebrity, so he pumps it up). That said, in the past year and a half in the US at least she's moved from moderate fame as a Disney TV actress to actual A-List status as a recording artist, with an album that went to #1 on the Billboard music charts, appearances on all of the award shows and at the White House singing, and at this very moment in fact, has the #2 single on the current music charts.
Oh... and yes. That 16 million Twitter followers (ALL of who will know Frankie, because she retweets and mentions him constantly on hers). Just for a sense of scale, while that's not Miley Cyrus/Bieber level of Followers, compare it to lets say... Mariah Carey (who Ariana's voice is often compared to, and who Ariana apparently worshiped until recently when Mariah got insecure about someone younger being compared to her and dissed her). Ariana has a million more Twitter followers than her hero now. Whenever he can he crams his face in any video or photo Ariana is doing, whenever she performs anywhere big he is there filming it for his Twitter or Instagram, he totally leeches off his sister. I always wind my daughter up saying he isn't 27, more like 37 and when I saw the website list his age as 31 I screamed out laughing, and he still said his age was 28 on his pre entry VT which is amusing me no end! Apart from his sister I think he will go far because that whole family is very media savvy and know what to say and do to win people over. |

Really good first episode... My fav ones are Joey, PowPow and Cody.
I don't like the team america twist though.. Don't like it all. And I'm still skepctial about the new HOH twist. I'm worried this season is going to get too confusing and just have constant twists for the sake of it. |

It's so cheesy when they get their BB keys at the start that it makes me howl with laughter. Acting all surprised, wearing full make up, and their best clothes with a camera in their face is hilarious. Like that footballer playing football with himself and his friends all topless. That was almost a homoerotic scene from Top Gun itself.
Interesting twist this year. |

The guy who the women and the gay are slobbering over just seems to have been put in for his looks, I hope he isn't a bore. |

Yeah the key reveal is always ridiculous, and I don't buy the "you have an hour to pack" either given some of them are on location places.
Twitter could get so messy this year if Frankie isn't liked by the BB fans, you know the Ariana fans will be coming of them

I like a public vote element in the game but obviously it's better if the public has a different choice each week so they are not just favouring the same people every week, I hope the twist takes account of this obvious need. The paranoia that something outside of the house's control and knowledge brings is good though.

Its going to be like season 13 with the first set of housemates vs the second bunch of housemates... very survivor season.

Devin: Smart move to come out and say he played pro baseball before someone recognizes him. He's charming but if he makes himself too likeable no one will want to go to the end with him.

I prefer the US version. Here's a link to complete season 12. One of my favourites.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IarD...V7CDf7RP5s1evR definitely second worst at best (14 is pretty irredeemable)

I typically hate the first two/three episodes of Big Brother seasons, but I have to say, I just watched this one and relatively enjoyed it! The first eight were all so much more enjoyable than I thought they would be based on the interviews!
As some of you who have seen my posts may know, I typically hate everyone at first, (apart from the pretty brunette, who inevitably goes onto tragic pre-jury status), so I'm surprised to say that I liked pretty much all of the first episode cast, and without seeing the others in action, I could actually live with them sticking together as a group for a while! I obviously reserve judgement on the houseguests until the feeds start and the houseguests start to show their real personalities (remember when Aaryn was a sweetie for three episodes!?!) but based on that first episode, I do like pretty much all of them! Donnie seems like one of the most genuine fish-out-of-water characters they've had, and whilst I do fear he might end up becoming a reincarnation of Cowboy, I think he could be there for a very long time. I mean seriously, who's going to target him? Nicole seems like a sweetie and though I do agree that she may be playing up the "aww shucks" ditzy thing, I really liked how enthusiastic she seems to be there! My biggest concern about her is that she has the same chipmunk quality in her face as a certain Miss Gries, but I very much doubt she's going the same route. In terms of game prospects, I don't really have high hopes for her. I'd like to see her do well, but to me, she screams "sweet girl who gets used as a pawn early on and then goes home" ![]() Amber is another who I really liked. She doesn't really seem that into Big Brother, but I think she looks like someone who could learn quickly, she's strong, seems friendly and was shrewd enough to throw the HoH (albeit unconvincingly). I do fear she could end up being a bit of a floater, but I like her a lot for now! ![]() Cody.. Well to be honest, there isn't really much to say about him. He is the stereotypical pretty boy, but my word is he pretty. I like him for now, though I do hope he doesn't turn into a douche once the other guys arrive.Devin is a little bit blah, but I have nothing bad to say about him. He seems nice enough for now, and I actually wouldn't be surprised to see him doing well (though similarly I could see him bombing out early) Paola wasn't someone who I really expected to like, but for now I find her amusing and she clearly has spitfire potential! She does scream "plays to hard" and she reminds me far to much of Ginamarie, but I really was surprised at how much I enjoyed her. Her stay won't be long lasting though! Joey seems nice enough, though I don't see her being very good at the game. I like her, though I have to admit, I didn't instantly warm to her like I expected too! And then there's Frankie.. Urgh, I really wanted to like him more, and kind of did at times, but he's such a desperate show off. I didn't dislike him as such, but I really hope that he was just overexcited and can tone it down. The fact that he's Arianna Grands brother means literally nothing to me. I'm aware of her and her following, but I couldn't name any of her songs or pick her out of a lineup. Being HoH could be a huge curse for him, but I wouldn't want him out first or anything, so I hope it doesn't go to badly for him. The two HoH twist worried me, but Redmond's suggestion on how it could work made me a litle more open to it. The Team America thing though.. mmm I don't really like that idea much. I think it *could* work if they don't keep it going for a long time, but longterm it just gets in the way. (And also they didn't even begin to explain what happens if one of the "team" is evicted before the other members are decided, which leads me to conclude they'd be doing everything they can to save them) Anyway I did really enjoy this launch, hopefully tonight's can live upto it, though I already know of at least one player who I'm going to dislike. (I really got negative vibes from his 5 second clip at the end, so that doesn't bode well!) |

I hate that key setup thing they do, absolutely hate it. Although, the funniest part of the show was when Donnie spotted his key. I really liked him and I got him in the sweep!
They all seemed to have potential and were likeable, but Frankie was a bit too much and the desperation from him was a bit creepy really. Still really liking Amber and Nicole ![]() I don't think any of this new lot will take over my hatred of McCrae as my most hated American housemate. |

Plus everyone's going to have a TON of fun fist pumping and yelling "F@ck Yeah!" everytime Chenbot says the phrase "Team America".
