Algeria vs Russia - ITV4 9pm KO
Belgium are already through and if we assume they will beat South Korea then that makes this game effectively a knockout match. If Korea beat Belgium by a handsome scoreline then things are a little different. As things stand though, Algeria are likely to qualify out of the group stages of the world cup for the first time in history.
Enjoy the match! |

Think ITV should've chosen this at their feature match, to be honest, as there's more riding on this than Belgium v South Korea.
Algeria deserve to go through for their marvellous attacking performance against South Korea which has been largely unmatched by the Russians in either of their games. |

Go Algeria. Cheated in 82. Unlucky in 2010. Great performance last time out. Plus as a Welshman their flag of a red symbol on a field of green and white is uncannily close! Quote:

Russia goal. Bugger.
Good header, though. |

Fine goal from Kokorin - both in terms of the header and the left wing cross which set it up.

The channels go for the bigger names/England on their main channel. Of course this backfired when they chose the England goal fest v Costa Rica and put the single biggest talking point of the tournament on ITV4.

(I suppose their greater number of players at English clubs might have been a factor, to be fair) |

Probably good for the game, though, as Algeria can't afford to sit back.

Talking about Russian beavers. It's just late enough to get away with that on TV.

Is Belgium a bigger footballing name than Russia?

It's funny really as Russia has shown very little in this tournament yet may well end up going through to the next round.

Similarities with Greece.
Russia do look sharper tonight than they have so far in this tournament. |

Similar style of play too; men behind the ball, patient build up, utilising the counter attack.

Slimani should have done better there, it was a free header.
