Good opportunity for Algeria there with the free header.

Match a little scrappy now, with a number of fouls and free kicks breaking up the flow.

Half time: Russia with the edge but fairly even all told.

We need to see more of a response from Algeria in the second half. It would be a shame to see them go out with a whimper after the terrific football they played in their last match.

I really hope Algeria get at least a point here and go through. Capello and this Russian side play such dour football.

Fantastic move from Russia - culminating with the backheeled pass from Kokorin to play in Samedov.

Algeria need some inspiration from somewhere. Right now I can see Russia picking up a second on the counter.

Algeria score. Mind you, did anyone notice that laser light in the Russian's keeper's eyes?

Slimani!

Wonder if the laser flashing all over Akinfeev played a part?

Green light in keepers eyes.

Distracting at the very least.

Looking on the replay, you could see him blink his eyes just as he was coming out to try and punch that ball away.

Saying that, though, his defence didn't exactly help him out with their marking.

It's all conjecture but the bottom line is that Algeria are level and heading through as things stand.

Doesn't look like Algeria will be sitting back just yet. Could be a fascinating final 25 minutes.

We could be looking at Algeria vs Germany - revenge for Algeria perhaps given previous events.

If it happens you can bet the build up to the match will all revolve around 1982.

Good save there.

What in God's name is Capello thinking with that jumper and shirt combo?

South Korea are now out of the picture because Belgium have just gone in front against them.

I wonder whether there'll be some sort of formal complaint from the Russian FA over that laser incident leading to the Algeria equaliser if they end up going out tonight?

Also, why can't ITV show the goal from the other match like BBC do?

Since the substitution, Algeria just can't hold the ball up.
