Also, why can't ITV show the goal from the other match like BBC do?
They showed the Russian and Algerian goals during play in the Belgium game on ITV1. They're just doing everything on the cheap on ITV4 (eg off tube commentators).

After what happened the other night with Greece I'm taking nothing for granted in this one.

What in God's name is Capello thinking with that jumper and shirt combo?
Mocking the many references to him looking like Postman Pat by dressing like a Royal Mail employee?...

Annoying seeing some of the rubbish teams that are getting through to the 2nd round. I think England could well have qualified from 4 maybe 5 of the other groups.

Sorry, but England are out. Just face it and let it go...

Spain too!! England, Spain and Germany's groups turned out to be by far the toughest.

Not often you see an unused substitute booked.

Famous last words but I think Algeria have got this sewn up now.

Good! Into the corner! EXACTLY what Ivory Coast should have done the other night on a break in injury time.

Who was the Argentinian that got sent off from the subs bench? Played for Glasgow Rangers I think.

Algeria are through!

Pleased for them because it's payback for how they were unfairly shut out of qualification back in 1982.

Draw a fair result, I thought - ultimately the damage was done for Russia in their previous two games.

Don't want to be harsh but Russia would have sailed through were it not for two mistakes by Akinfeev - including the equaliser tonight - which cost them four points overall.

Well done, Algeria. Nicely organised and lively team. Probably won't beat the Germans, but it could be an interesting game.

Jeez, you don't get much chance to savour the atmosphere after the final whistle on ITV4 do you? Fantastic scenes as Algeria make the KO stages for the first time and after 5 seconds it's off to an ad break.

Disgraceful by Russia really. They have a decent league and I read that most of their players play for the top teams. And they host the next World Cup. Disgraceful!!

Yeah, I bet even US TV showed more celebrations.
